General Description APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE CLOSING DATE, HOWEVER THE FIRST ROUND OF INTERVIEWS WILL BEGIN BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE This is routine outdoor work performed on pre-scheduled and/or "as assigned" basis with varied shifts in various locations within the City of Madison. Major responsibilities include caring for the safety of children at street crossings. Work is performed under the supervision of a Crossing Guard Supervisor under the administration of the Traffic Engineering Division. HOURS: Approximately 10-15 hours per week depending on location. General shift times are 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. and 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. with an earlier afternoon shift on Mondays. All positions work five days per week, Monday through Friday, during the school year with time off during school breaks.
