GENERAL PURPOSE: 5/3/2019 Police Cadet Performs academic and physical activities related to achieving TCOLE certification and the successful completion of an accredited police academy. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives direct supervision from Police Sergeant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must successfully Pass TCOLE certification of an accredited police academy. Ability to comprehend lesson plans, presentations, and lectures in a classroom environment. Ability to demonstrate proficiency through written testing and practical exercises. Must be able to pass testing and obtain certifications with the ASP baton and pepper spray. Ability to demonstrate firearms proficiency. Must be able to pass TCOLE state certification examination.
