Job Description

As a Manager Finance - Retail Accounting Franchise with Sobeys you will:

Accountable to the timely and accurate production of retail financial statements Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO certification, and compliance with Sobeys Inc. accounting policies and IFRS. Including: Review and sign off for all retail accounting process Review and Sign-off of period financial statements and variance analysis Review and sign-off of Retail working papers Drive process improvements and efficiencies through: Cost Control and Efficiencies Harmonizing/standardizing processes Aligning systems Ensuring technologies, accounting and controls lead to high quality service delivery Customer service ( internal and external) Execution of Service Level Agreements and accountability for all metrics Lead, coach and mentor Senior and Retail Accountants and Clerks Prepare various ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests Communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees. Work with Shared Services peers to identify opportunities to improve customer service to store Lead by example by focusing on personal career development and pursuing opportunities to increase relevant knowledge and skills Facilitate the internal and external audit requests of accounts and balances Ensure overall quality of service, retention, continuity, risk mitigation and management of any service offered Foster an environment that encourages employee engagement and motivates team members to perform at their best  Lead by example by focusing on personal career development and pursuing opportunities to increase relevant knowledge and skills Support Sobeys talent management succession planning strategy, by making sure capable people are identified and have action plans in place that align to individual and organizational needs Foster a culture of continuous improvement, where colleagues in your department are encouraged and recognized for generating and implementing innovative ideas Provide Service to: retail store operators, Franchisee’s, District Operators, Merchandising, FP&A, Related Business Ops, and Discount Operations Key stakeholders – Collaborating and working with FP&A, Accounting and Control, Accounting Ops and Service, and Audit

Job Requirements

Your experience and resume will show us:

A minimum of 8 years experience in accounting or related field University degree in Business and/ or diploma (working towards CA, CMA, CGA) MBA or accounting designation preferred  Finance experience in the retail sector preferred Knowledge of SAP and SAPBW
