This position is responsible for providing leadership and project management to all engineering groups as they proceed through the NFI pre-production and or build process. The position’s goal is to ensure that the engineering deliverables for the specified areas are delivered on-time and meet and/or exceed customer requirements and expectations at all points in the product life cycle. Thus, leadership and support continues in Service.


When assigned to a specific contract, work with the customer, and various departments to fully understand the specification and key requirements. Identify any previous or current issues and mitigate risk in the products design or process. Oversee the development and execution of project deliverables and timing.  Manage tasks and testing identified on the critical path. Leads system integration reviews, virtual reviews and FMEAs with Engineering, Production, Service and Vendors. Oversees signoff of requirements, vendor approvals, testing and supports customer configuration audits. Works with Service Managers to expedite problem solving and subsequent engineering releases related to the Pilot buses. Acts as designated Engineering liaison – facilitate cross-functional communications as required.  When assigned employees, coach, support and motivate employees of the assigned technical section to ensure completion of assigned tasks in order to meet Corporate expectations and objectives (MBOs). Complete employee performance reviews as required. Other duties as assigned


Post-secondary Engineering education or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience. 5 plus years of experience in related field/job function. Previous leadership or management experience with displayed ability to train and mentor individuals. Experience using CAD systems and MPP data bases. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative. Above average interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.  Ability to find solutions to problems using creativity, critical thinking and reasoning.  Project Management/PMP is an asset. Very strong attention to detail. Desire and ability to be part of a high performing team. Ability to work independently.
