Shell Oil Company - Senior Petroleum Engineer

Shell Oil Company, a global energy leader, seeks a highly experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This critical role will involve leading complex projects, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the company's overall strategic objectives in oil and gas exploration and production. The position demands a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex petroleum engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize oil and gas production, enhance reservoir management, and reduce operational costs.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional development.
  • Analyze reservoir data, interpret geological information, and develop reservoir simulation models to predict future production performance.
  • Conduct well testing and analysis, evaluating reservoir properties and optimizing well completion strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers, to ensure project success.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, incorporating them into project designs and operations.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for senior management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of success in managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of reservoir simulation, well testing, and production optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Petrel, Eclipse, and CMG.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
