As a team member of a dynamic and multidiscipline development team, your responsibilities will span the development and fielding life cycle from initial concept definition through detailed design, development, and qualification testing and into fielding and customer support. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with experience in radio frequency (RF) communications links and systems, algorithm prototyping/modeling, Electronic Warfare (EW) waveform design, and software-defined radios.
What You Will Do
- Work within a team of systems engineers to accomplish requirements traceability and capability definition, as related to signal processing in an iterative development environment
- Assist with maintaining the program technical baseline as it relates to signal processing
- Provide support and clarification of requirements and design to systems engineers, software development teams and integration and test personnel as it relates to signal processing
- Support technical interchange meetings with program management and the customer in matters related to signal processing
- Must be willing and able to travel as required (~10%)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with waveform design and modulation theory applications as well as satellite RF links (modulation, Doppler effects, link budgets. Multiple access techniques, etc.)
- Experience using signal prototyping and simulation as well as working with front-end processors, radio transceivers, communication satellites and their ground terminals
Qualifications We Prefer
- Theoretical knowledge and experience working with antennas used for satellite communications
- Experience with signal detection in challenging RF environments and spread spectrum (direct sequence and frequency hopped) theory and application
- Experience with operations of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
- Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions and strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
- Experience with modeling resources and methodologies (Cameo)
