Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineer to join our team in Canoga Park, CA. This individual will provide program Quality Engineering support for assigned contracted programs spanning the lifecycle of the program including design, development, production, test and supplier support.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes engineering background and expertise to ensure customer requirement flow-down and hardware is compliant to specifications. Handles and communicates deviations/non-conformances at different levels within the organization and at customer level as applicable. Prepares comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports and presentations for both internal and external customers.
- Actively participates in improvement teams to reduce risk through the application of six sigma tools. Applies zero defects quality principles, concepts and methods, including Lean Manufacturing to continuously improve processes, reduce cost and ensure the quality of our products and services.
- Drives corrective and preventative action activity both in-house and at the Supplier, and provides corrective action board support to manage timely and effective problem closure and recurrence control.
- Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's requirements. Participates in design reviews to identify and correct inspectability and producibility issues and opportunities early in the product life cycle. Provides a clear and concise flow down of product definition and Quality requirements to Suppliers.
- Actively participates in the Material Review Board, including segregation and control of nonconforming hardware to preclude inadvertent processing, disposition nonconforming hardware, preparing for and conducting board meetings, and implementing disposition decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced degree in a related field
- CQE and/or CSSBB
- APQP and or Zero Defect Planning Experience
- MDA experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situations.
- Must consistently meet commitments.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $82,500 - $153,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking aSpecialist, Quality Engineer to work at either our existing state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Toney, AL, and/or our new, AMF in Huntsville, AL , which will be our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. The Specialist, Quality Engineer works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area. Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area. Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
Essential Functions:
Leverages engineering expertise to facilitate communication and coordination among Integrated Product Team (IPT) members, suppliers, program office, and customers. Ensures that contractual requirements, hardware specifications, and key quality metrics are met, or ensures corrective actions are implemented and verified effective.
- Apply modern quality principles and methods, including Lean and Six Sigma, to aerospace manufacturing operations. 
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure compliance and flow down of applicable requirements. 
- Lead or interface with the Material Review Board (MRB) for nonconforming material disposition, driving timely completion of actions. 
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for high product and service standards, regularly assessing the health those functional processes. 
- Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analysis, take corrective actions, and verify effectiveness through effective application of a Corrective Action Board (CAB) process. 
- Analyze manufacturing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

- Interface with Supplier Quality Engineering to resolve supplier-related issues. 
- Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to identify and mitigate program risks through the program’s Risk and Opportunity Management Board process.

a. Summary
CHS Sunflower has an exciting opportunity in our Global Grains and Processing Division. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician in our raw sunflower processing facility. The Quality Assurance Technician ensures products meet specifications as they are processed and packaged to ensure our customers receive only the highest quality products. You must have excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all quality requirements for producing raw food ingredients and bird food products
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times
- Perform routine testing (moisture, purity, sizing, etc.) and non-routine testing as necessary on in-process and finished products in a timely manner
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) when performing and recording in-house testing
- Record test results electronically and prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for shipments as needed
- Perform routine and non-routine inspections in processing and packaging areas
- Be a Safety Champion and support food safety, physical safety and customer safety initiatives
- Identify, segregate and place products on hold when the product or process is out of specification.
- Assist in performing investigations into customer complaints and deviations to determine root cause
- Conduct employee training on food safety and quality as needed
- Participate in training opportunities to further food safety and quality knowledge
- Maintain clean and safe work area at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to work overtime if needed
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 2+ years of experience in IT Quality Management and/or Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance
- High School diploma or GED

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris company, is seeking a NDT Level III RT/DR/UT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist to join our team in Canoga Park, California.
Essential Functions:
- Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements. Coordinate with suppliers on the development and approval of these technique sheets. Prepare necessary reports.
- Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
- Review process specifications, in-house technique sheets, etc. as noted above under job responsibilities.
- Provide training and testing to L I and L II.
- Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
- Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Requires NDT LVL III RT (Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), UT (Ultrasonic), or PT (Penetrant) certifications.
- Needs to have direct experience with the testing of Aerospace Metallic products
- Must have Level 3 ASNT Certification and/ or currently active NAS410 Level III certifications
- Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
- Experience with auditing practices and Process Certification is desired.
- A demonstrated proficiency with a variety of NDT inspection techniques and equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation is required.
- Knowledge of industry NDT standards (ex. NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc.) is required.
- Candidate must meet requirements of NAS-410.
- Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

The successful candidate will have a high school graduate or equivalent GED, five years of experience in a maintenance/construction specific trade, and familiarity with federal and state regulations, codes and guidelines for trades work. They will also be able to read and interpret requirements in order to inspect/audit them for conformity, and maintain records in both hardcopy and electronic file storage.
