Full Job Description

General Electric (GE) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Manufacturing Technician to lead a team of technicians in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement initiatives, and a focus on efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a team of manufacturing technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor production processes, identify potential problems, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of production output, equipment maintenance, and quality control.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, providing on-the-job training and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure product quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using various hand tools and machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
