Full Job Description
IBM is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Seattle,
Washington. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and
closing technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time,
within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role
involves managing project teams, communicating with stakeholders, and
mitigating risks.

- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Lead and motivate project teams, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly.
- Manage project budgets and track expenditures.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Use project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Microsoft Project).
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
- Conduct project post-mortems and lessons learned sessions.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Forecast project resource needs.
- Resolve conflicts and roadblocks within the project team.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Ensure project compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Develop contingency plans.
- Prepare project status reports and presentations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously if required.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Monitor project milestones and key performance indicators.
- Ensure effective communication channels are established.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within project execution.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis.
- Manage project dependencies.
- Obtain necessary approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
- Close out projects formally and transition deliverables.
- Contribute to the development of project management best practices within IBM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in technology projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Proficiency with project management software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources.
- Strong risk management skills.
- PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
