Full Job Description

Citigroup is seeking a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of commercial clients, providing banking products and services to meet their financial needs. You will be responsible for deepening existing relationships, acquiring new clients, and collaborating with product specialists to deliver comprehensive solutions, including lending, treasury management, and investment services. This position requires strong sales skills, financial expertise, and a deep understanding of the commercial banking landscape.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial banking clients.
  • Develop and execute strategies to deepen existing client relationships and acquire new clients.
  • Identify client financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Structure and negotiate credit facilities.
  • Collaborate with product partners (e.g., Treasury & Trade Solutions, Capital Markets).
  • Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of client businesses.
  • Prepare and present credit proposals.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, industry dynamics, and regulatory environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build long-term client relationships.
  • Manage client profitability and portfolio risk.
  • Represent Citigroup at industry events and client functions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial banking, relationship management, or corporate lending.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a client portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products, including lending, treasury management, and trade finance.
  • Excellent credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with business owners and executives.
  • Knowledge of the Washington, D.C. market and business community is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • FINRA licenses may be required depending on product focus.
