Verizon is hiring a skilled Network Engineer to join our technology team in Charlotte, NC. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust network infrastructure that supports Verizon's telecommunications services.

Verizon is hiring a skilled Network Engineer to join our technology team in Charlotte, NC. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust network infrastructure that supports Verizon's telecommunications services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
- Install and maintain network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and identify areas for optimization.
- Implement and maintain network security measures.
- Respond to and resolve network outages and issues.
- Perform network capacity planning and growth forecasting.
- Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to support their networking needs.
- Manage network projects from planning to deployment.
- Conduct network upgrades and migrations.
- Automate network tasks and processes where possible.
- Ensure network compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
- Utilize network monitoring and management tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation for network support.
- Evaluate new network technologies and solutions.
- Conduct network performance testing.
- Troubleshoot complex network problems.
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity planning for the network.
- Communicate network status and issues to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering or administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
- Experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent.
- Experience with network security concepts and devices (firewalls, VPNs).
- Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet) is a plus.
- Knowledge of telecommunications networks is beneficial.
