Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and reliable HVAC Installers to join our Home Services team serving the New York City, New York area. As an HVAC Installer working through The Home Depot, you will be responsible for the professional installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and potentially commercial properties. You will ensure installations are completed safely, correctly, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install a variety of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Measure and cut pipe and ductwork.
  • Connect electrical wiring and controls according to diagrams and local codes.
  • Test newly installed systems to ensure proper operation and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation.
  • Ensure all installations comply with local building codes and regulations.
  • Work safely at all times, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding the installation process and system operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Ensure work sites are clean and orderly upon completion of the job.
  • Collaborate with other installers and contractors as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the installation process.
  • Transport equipment and materials to job sites.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each job.
  • Attend training sessions to stay updated on new equipment and installation techniques.
  • Adhere to project timelines and schedules.
  • Perform calculations related to system sizing and airflow.
  • Inspect existing systems and sites before installation.
  • Answer customer questions about system maintenance and warranty.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship is highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC installation.
  • Proven experience installing various types of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and control systems for HVAC.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and HVAC regulations in the New York City area.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools common to HVAC installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and work at heights.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.
  • EPA Section 608 certification is often required.
  • NATE certification is a plus.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
