Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Data Analyst to join our consulting team in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Data Analyst at EY, you will work on client engagements across various industries, collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to provide valuable insights. You will support consulting projects by leveraging data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and inform strategic decisions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external APIs.
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Develop and execute data queries using SQL or other query languages.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate data insights effectively (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Conduct statistical analysis and apply appropriate analytical techniques.
  • Interpret analysis results and provide actionable recommendations to consulting teams and clients.
  • Support the development of data models and analytical frameworks.
  • Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to understand data requirements and business objectives.
  • Document data sources, methodologies, and findings.
  • Automate data collection and reporting processes where possible.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging data to solve client business problems.
  • Stay updated on the latest data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ensure data privacy and security compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations and reports.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and validate data integrity.
  • Contribute to the development of EY's data analytics capabilities.
  • Manage project tasks and timelines related to data analysis.
  • Provide technical support for data-related tools and platforms.
  • Work with large datasets and distributed computing environments (e.g., Spark) is a plus.
  • Communicate complex analytical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense).
  • Experience with programming languages commonly used for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including remote collaboration.
  • Experience in consulting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, Google BigQuery) is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts is a plus.
