Full Job Description

Boeing is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Production Planner to join our team supporting operations in New York City, New York. While not a traditional manufacturing hub for large aircraft, this location may support component manufacturing, complex assembly, or specialized defense production. As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, ensuring the availability of materials and resources, and coordinating production activities to meet deadlines and targets. You will work closely with manufacturing teams, supply chain, and engineering to optimize production flow and efficiency in a highly complex and regulated environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor production progress and identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed in response to changes in demand, material availability, or production issues.
  • Work closely with manufacturing supervisors and operators to ensure schedules are understood and followed.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage production orders, inventory, and capacity.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in scheduling and efficiency.
  • Generate reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to production scheduling or material shortages.
  • Ensure production plans comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in production meetings and contribute to operational planning.
  • Manage work orders and ensure accurate data entry in production systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and scheduling.
  • Liaise with logistics and shipping to coordinate outbound deliveries.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or complex assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning principles, including MRP/ERP concepts.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with capacity planning and constraint management.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and production specifications.
  • Must be able to work on-site at the New York City facility.
  • Experience with forecasting and demand planning is beneficial.
  • Understanding of supply chain dynamics.

Join Boeing in New York City and contribute to the critical planning that supports the manufacturing of complex aerospace components and systems.
