Northrop Grumman is seeking an Aerospace Software Engineer to
join our team in Austin, Texas.
As an Aerospace Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will be involved in the design, development, and testing of software for critical aerospace systems. This includes embedded systems, flight control software, ground support software, and simulation environments. You will work on challenging technical problems requiring expertise in software development methodologies, real-time systems, and aerospace standards. As an Aerospace Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will be involved in the design, development, and testing of software for critical aerospace systems. This includes embedded systems, flight control software, ground support software, and simulation environments. You will work on challenging technical problems requiring expertise in software development methodologies, real-time systems, and aerospace standards. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test software for aerospace applications.
- Write code in languages such as C, C++, Ada, or Python.
- Implement software according to design specifications and coding standards.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
- Debug software issues and implement bug fixes.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware engineers.
- Develop technical documentation, including design documents and test procedures.
- Ensure software compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C).
- Participate in code reviews and technical meetings.
- Support system integration and verification activities.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions.
- Stay updated on software development best practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience with embedded systems or real-time operating systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Ada.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an aerospace context.
- Knowledge of aerospace software standards (e.g., DO-178C) is a strong plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with simulation environments is a plus.
