Open Shift types:
- DAYS: First Shift (A) | Monday - Wednesday (and every other Sunday) | 6am - 6pm

Wage (based on experience):
- Assistant wages range from $9 - 21/hour

- Willingness and ability to work 12 hour shifts.
Major Job Function:
- The Extrusion Line Operator controls and monitors the film production (roll stock of film/plastic) of his or her designated line(s). Oversees the quality, house-keeping, and safety of the designated extrusion line(s). Maintains clear communication with all Plant Departments in an effort to produce quality base film.

- Prior manufacturing experience
- Prior Industry Experience is a plus

- Able to work 12 hour shift with overtime as needed

What you will do:
Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
Position patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
Perform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards.
Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film/transmit to Image Archival System.
Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions.
Charge procedures and supplies in EHR.
Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Provide orientation and training to new CT technologists.
Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for CT scans.
Provide education and training to student technologists.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration.
Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocols.

General Description of the Job Class
Operation of sonographic equipment, perform and communicate results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Exams performed include carotid, AAA, resting and exercise ABI, renal, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial, hemodialysis graft, pre-op mapping, venous insufficiency, mesenteric, pseudo aneurysm and EVAR and bypass grafts.
Follow established departmental policy.
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the Radiologist.
Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care.
Communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs.
Assists with the daily operations of the ultrasound department.
Completes exam tracking/billing accurately on a daily basis.
Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies.
Establishes and maintains productive ethical working relationships with coworkers, referring providers and commercial agencies.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Assist in training of ultrasound students during clinical rotations.

Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures and does not require assistance from fellow sonographers.
Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.

Duke University Health System seeks to hire an experienced or new graduate CT Technologist who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together. The Duke University Hospital (DUH) campus supports a 1067 bed hospital known for expertise in Inpatient, Urgent Outpatient, OR, Interventional, ED/Trauma, PEDS, Cardiac, Oncology, and Transplant services. We have a total of 20 clinical scanners, including 14 in various locations, 5 in the OR, and 1 portable scanner for Neuro ICU. This position will primarily be working with Inpatient and Outpatient, Interventional CT, and Emergency Imaging in the Duke Medicine Pavilion, ED, and PORT (major surgery).
What you will do:
- Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
- Position patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
- Perform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards.
- Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
- Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film/transmit to Image Archival System.
- Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions.
- Charge procedures and supplies in EHR.
- Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Provide orientation and training to new CT technologists.
- Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for CT scans.
- Provide education and training to student technologists.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.
- Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration.
- Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocols.
- Assist with the education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, and attending's). If applicable.
- Assist radiologists and PhD's in developing new protocols and CT imaging techniques that are unique to facility.
- Perform CT specific technical assistance with projects assigned by supervisor including but not limited to: Team lead, R & D, protocol development, charge reconciliation and demonstration of equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
Experience:
Level I
Must obtain CT certification within 18 months of employment.
Level II
Minimum of two years' experience as a CT technologist.
Level III
A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Certification in one of the following required: Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), CNMT.
ARRT registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 18 months of employment.
BLS certification.
