SUMMARY
Join a mission-driven organization where your accounting expertise supports charitable initiatives and investment stewardship. The Fuller Foundation’s Accounting Manager oversees various accounting functions of the Foundation, and its subsidiary Fuller Investment Management Company, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial and governmental reporting. The position also monitors endowment and scholarship accounts and ensures timely issuance of quarterly statements.
Direct Reports: – 1 Staff Accountant
Major Responsibilities:
- Monthly, quarterly and year-end close
- Timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial reports
- Calculates and/or reviews management and administration fees
- Oversees and directs the work of the staff accountant and other accounting functions in the organization
- Reviews and approves accounts payable through Bill.com
- In-house accounting for numerous charitable trusts
- Responsible for oversight of endowments/scholarship accounting and reporting
- Reviews in-house accounting for investment fund partnership, which holds traditional and alternative investments
- Participates in the preparation for the organization’s annual audit, working with the CFO to ensure a clean and timely audit
- Coordinates with various departments and provides information to CFO/Executive Director for the preparation of annual operating budget
- Plays a major role in tax compliance (Forms 1120, 1065, 990, 990-T, as well as related state tax forms) with outside tax preparers and assists in review of tax returns prepared in-house for various trust entities
- Prepares or oversees annual 1099 issuance
- Assists in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting procedures in the department
- Reviews wire and ACH transfers prepared by accounting team
- Interfaces with the client services and investment teams on various client-related matters
- Leads and mentors accounting staff, including direct supervision of one Staff Accountant and oversight of cross-functional accounting processes
Education, Credentials and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA/CMA preferred)
- Experience in financial reporting
- Working knowledge of investments and brokerage statements
- Experience with Bill.com, Paylocity, Sage Intacct, preferred
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Detail-oriented, proactive and collaborative. Able to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and thrive in a mission-driven environment
