This Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)/Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) role is an indirect/direct care role. The CNS/APN is a key member of the programs nursing leadership team, responsible for advancing clinical practice.

Education:
- Masters degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of recent inpatient pediatric nursing experience.

Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Massachusetts license as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

- Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical histories, and records findings.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting and integrating data.
- Posts tests and examination results as appropriate.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of previous patient care experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of APN or PA experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in State of Tennessee, or current Physician Assistant licensed to practice in State of Tennessee.

Overview: Advanced Practice Nurse – Primary Care
This full-time position will work with the primary healthcare team to ensure individuals with a mental illness or substance use diagnosis are able to obtain primary medical care within the standard of care for Internal Medicine patients. THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS with a two-year employment commitment.
