Job Summary
The general scope of responsibilities while employed as a Case Manager - Child Welfare for up to 4 youth between the ages of 12-18 are all the tasks relating to personal care, housing, meals, academics, recreational activities and trauma-informed care of youth in the One Hope United (OHU) Community Home Based Residential Program. House Parent(s) will be trained to use the Family Teaching Model, which is an evidence based and trauma-informed approach. House Parent(s) are live in supervisors. Other activities include: Supporting positive behavior of the youth, supervising and arranging activities to ensure proper mental, physical, and social development is provided. House Parent(s) shall ensure that the youth attend school regularly, provided ongoing academic support in the home. House Parent(s) goal is to provide an equitable and nurturing family style environment within the home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides supervision of youth in accordance with OHU and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) policies
- Maintains a therapeutic home environment. Interactions with all youth reflect a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach
- Teaches, models, and participates in individual and group instruction, in daily living, recreational activities, social skills, emotional regulation skills, and independent living skills as prescribed by each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Residential Program Plan
- Continually trains and maintains certification in the implementation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or other approved behavior modification program
- Follows OHU Residential Program Plan, including daily schedule, administration of expectations and associated consequences, and mental health treatment of youth in residential care. House Parent(s) make adjustments to daily schedule as needed and that support a nurturing, educational and positive environment
- Establish and sustain positive relationships with youth biological parents, social workers, counselors, child psychologists, teachers, mentors, and any members of the treatment team. The ability to successfully engage and interact with a diverse demographic is essential
- Work collaboratively with a treatment team to provide quality services with the objective to exceed expected outcomes
- Participates in weekly clinical, staff and Child and Family Team Meetings
- Attends professional development trainings, seminars, and conferences as assigned by supervisory or administrative staff
- Transports youth and their families to mandated court hearings, school appointments, doctor appointments or other case related appointments
- Completes all documentation required for the position in a timely and accurate manner
- Always maintains client and program confidentiality to the highest standard
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains highest ethical standards aligned with child welfare practices
- Interact and intervene with youth with a strength-based approach
- Serve as a central point of communications and coordination for all mental health related services, treatment and counseling needs of the youth
- Regularly discusses progress toward goals with client and encourages client feedback and client ownership of outcomes
- Complete Admission Notes, Mental Health Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, Individual Treatment Plan Reviews, Mental Health Reassessments significant event reports and Court Reports for each youth in the home with accuracy and within the required time frames.
- Monitors client progress and periodically reassess client's level of functioning within required time frame
- Completes transition and aftercare as prescribed by the DCFS Transition/Aftercare Protocol
- Ensures there is a medical rule out of symptoms and coordinates the approach with medical and other providers serving the client
- Represents OHU at court hearings, meetings, Annual Case Reviews, Child and Family Team Meetings and any other collaborative meetings on behalf of youth and families
- Adheres to the Family Teaching Model, which is Trauma Informed and Evidence Based Program
- Treats all information concerning the program as confidential
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
BA in social work or related field
Experience:
3 years of related experience preferred
Other:
DCFS background check & approval to transport youth
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance
Required Skills
- Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary

We are hiring for a full time temporary Social Worker to be placed at the county working with children and families. Candidate must have a BA degree and at least 2 years of case management experience with children and families.
Some job duties include but are not limited to:
• Conducts in-home or on-site visitations
• Determines extent of supportive services needed and develops a case treatment plan
• Provides information and assistance and referrals based on needs assessment
• Interfaces and works in collaboration with other county, government and non profit agencies
• Performs liaison work and problem resolution with other agencies
• Maintain documentation, report writing
• Responds to and investigates complaints of abuse, neglect and may take or recommend appropriate action
• Makes assessments of clients in need of in-home care including evaluation of alternative resources in or out of home
• Performs case management functions
• Participates in multidisciplinary care coordination teams
• Provides guidance and information regarding client's rights to confidentiality and self-determination, family, agency and client responsibilities and legal ramifications or liabilities
• Authorizes childcare arrangements
This temp assignment is planned for at least 6 months but it most likely will last 1 -2 years and candidate is welcome to apply for temp to hire if there are appropriate openings. Hours are M - F basic business hours. Job requires home visits, so car and clean driving record is required. Selected candidates must be able to clear and extensive background check prior to starting, position will start within a few weeks.

Child Welfare Assistant
This position is located in Norman, Oklahoma.
Annual Salary:
- Level I H16A - $29,600.55 + Full State Employee Benefits
- Level II H16B - $1,819.20 + Full State Employee Benefits
- Level III H16C - $3 ,999.65 + Full State Employee Benefits
Travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Work hours 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Any hours worked outside of normal business hours (7 am - 6 pm) will receive shift differential pay.
Minimum Qualifications
Child Welfare Assistant I
- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of six months of experience in general office clerical work, providing care for children in a licensed day care facility, sales, or public contact work
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one of the following for the required experience: (a) six months of technical or vocational training course work; or (b) the completion of 15 semester hours from a college or university.
Child Welfare Assistant II
- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for the required experience.
Child Welfare Assistant III
- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment plus two additional years of clerical experience in a child welfare environment;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for the required experience.
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the completion of a full range of paraprofessional work completing various Child Welfare case management activities such as providing assistance to Child Welfare Specialists, clients, client families, and other interested parties.
- Schedules required appointments for doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and other venues; arranges or provides transportation for child(ren) and clients.
- This may include coordinating referrals to other program areas, service providers, and the courts; assisting in problem resolution, and making home visits to assist CWS in assessing foster care placement as required by the court or individualized service plan.
- Interviews clients and their families and report findings, which may affect medical, financial, tribal affiliation, and psychiatric care and treatment plans, to assigned CWS.
- Performs administrative support tasks and other related duties including general office duties, inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, scheduling, and assisting in meetings with clients, parents, and other interested parties.
- Advises clients of available child welfare services and resources; provides specific program information to clients and may refer to community resources for assistance.
- Assists CWS in providing case management in client meetings, obtaining other services such as daycare or medical care; coordinating activities with law enforcement; courts, and other entities; providing reports to the courts.
- May assist in advocating for the client(s) in obtaining services; maintains communication among the client, providers, client’s family, and others; may assist clients in achieving individualized service plans.
