Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or a closely related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven track record in project management and process optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of initiative and independence.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
We are the leading walk-in van body manufacturer in North America producing over 7,500 vehicles annually. Our portfolio of customers serves a multitude of industries and delivery applications. The primary industry served by these Walk-in vans is parcel package pick up & delivery because most everything ordered on-line is delivered by a Walk-In stepvan. We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to manage the CI team and facilitate lean events while managing standardized, documented, outcomes within our facility located in Sturgis, MI.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage the development and implementation of the production system and daily management systems utilizing lean manufacturing tools
- Initiate and identify cost reduction initiatives while supporting standardized documentary evidence to support corporate audits
- Lead continuous improvement efforts which include layout improvement, flow process improvement and applying best practices
- Support, mentor and train team members in the use and application of lean tools
- Conduct annual value stream mapping events and track/document results and identify initiatives to transition to ideal future state
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, science, or related field
- 5+ years in a continuous improvement position

Position Purpose:
The Continuous Improvement Process Engineer is a results-driven team member focused on optimizing existing manufacturing processes. This role drives operational efficiency by leading data-driven projects that reduce waste, improve line performance, and enhance product quality. Working closely with Production, QA, Engineering, and other departments, this individual identifies challenges on the floor and implements sustainable, cost-effective solutions. The role ensures that all improvements align with business goals while maintaining L&S’s high-quality standards and specifications.This is an onsite role that requires five days per week in our Stratham, NH office.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Process Analysis and Continuous Improvement
- Conduct thorough analyses of current manufacturing processes to pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Leverage recipe and product knowledge to Identify opportunities where minor formulation or process tweaks can significantly improve line performance, minimize waste, and enhance product quality.
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality, engineering and production to translate product requirements into optimized manufacturing conditions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, ensuring sustainability
Training and Cross-Functional Partnership
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on continuous improvement techniques and best practices
- Partner with the T&E pillar to train staff on continuous improvement and LPW
- Collaborate with department supervision, cross functional teams and other stakeholders to identify chronic inefficiencies or process deviations tied to product characteristics.
- Actively participate in LPW pillars and teams and ensure that continuous improvement strategies and key initiatives align with LPW and company goals.
Auditing and Compliance
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of process changes and improvements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies.
- Regularly assess processes to ensure compliance and identify further improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment (LPW, 5S, Six Sigma, TPM or similar)
- Experience in chocolate manufacturing a plus
Understanding of Key Tools and Techniques:
- Lean Manufacturing
- Sig Sigma
- Kaizen
- RCA
- Value stream mapping
Skills and Knowledge
- Solid computer skills with excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with PLC software and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
- Second language (Spanish) a plus
