Position Summary:
The Diagnostic Services Supervisor primary function is to supervise, coordinate, manage and actively participate in all diagnostic services activities to ensure optimum workflow and provision of high-quality care.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manages daily operation of diagnostic services department at all locations offering diagnostic testing.
2. Works with administrative staff in the planning, organizing, directing and updating of diagnostic policies and procedures.
3. Participates in the interview and selection process of diagnostic services employees.
4. Conducts departmental meetings as needed.
5. Maintains responsibility and absolute reliability for all work performed in the diagnostic area.
6. Maintains adequate supplies necessary for the daily functioning of Diagnostic activities in accordance with corporate established procurement procedures.
Qualifications :
1. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program with a degree in Radiology Technology with a current license to practice as a registered Radiology Technologist in the State of Alabama.
2. Minimum of two years work experience in a healthcare setting as a Radiologic Technologist.
3. Must be ARRT registered and CPR certified.
4. Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with partners, physicians, management, co-workers, and visitors using judgment and discretion in dispensing potentially sensitive information and handling problem situations.

What You Bring:
- Associate's degree or higher in science field or equivalent clinical lab experience
- 2+ years of experience in clinical laboratory and diagnostics setting
- Experience performing daily maintenance of instrumentation or relevant school experience
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory instruments from manufacturers like Beckman, Roche, Siemens, or Abbott
- Ability to operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot clinical diagnostic lab instruments
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills in fast-paced environments
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

Manager, Laboratory Services
MAIN FUNCTION:
The Laboratory Manager must work in conjunction with the Laboratory Administrative Director and under the direction Medical Director to ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, DNV and CMS and to accomplish department responsibilities and goals. Is accountable for creating and maintaining a process which cultivates the participation of the team in the assessment, planning and implementation of a high quality and reliable laboratory. Daily, the Manager must supervise all technical and non-technical Laboratory staff and create and/or approve work schedules for all Laboratory Service employees. Assists in the evaluation of and completion of Performance Appraisals for Laboratory employees. The Manager participates in the fiscal management of the department as requested and acts as Administrative Director in the absence of the Director. Oversees the Laboratory Computer System including the Chargemaster system and assures smooth operation of laboratory registration, billing, test coding, and report processing. Works as a collaborative team member with revenue cycle to ensure optimization of charge revenue and responsible for assuring compliance with all applicable laboratory billing and coding laws.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Laboratory Services
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution (or the equivalent experience in a laboratory as deemed appropriate by ASCP or CLIA criteria).
- Board Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent registry such as AMT or NAACLS.
- Minimum of five years experience in the clinical laboratory.
- Basic computer skills.
- No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Prior work experience in a clinical laboratory setting, including recent experience in multiple areas.
- Familiarity with DNV-GL and CAP accreditation.
- Experience in Performance and Process improvement such as DMAIC and/or Lean Methodologies
- Exposure to Meditech hospital information system
- Computer skills in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Oversees the continuing education and documentation of continuing education of laboratory staff
- Responsible for ongoing competence assessment of staff and organizing annual competence activities
- Investigates issues of sample integrity or result quality including the follow up of such incidents in Quantros.
- Oversees Technical Specialists to ensure compliance with CAP Checklists/Accreditation.
- Assists in strategic planning and implementing Laboratory goals.
- Performs inspections at other sites (CAP).
- Assists with actively reviewing, maintaining, and in updating laboratory policy and procedure manuals.
- Maintains records of all Meditech and Chargemaster updates. Develops periodic testing of LIS and Chargemaster for functionality and consistency.
- Performs all on-going monitoring of LIS / Chargemaster systems. Acts as a liaison between IS, Revenue Cycle and the Laboratory. Assures that all compliance guidelines are maintained.

At Houston Methodist, the Registered Nurse (RN) PRN Cardiac Services position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. The RN PRN Cardiac Services position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. The RN PRN Cardiac Services position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs. This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes. The RN PRN Cardiac Services position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights. This position assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and possibly contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.

Prioritizes care based on the patient's needs, abilities and preferences. Advocates on patient/family's behalf to identify and resolve clinical and ethical concerns, utilizing appropriate resources.
- Provides patient teaching based on learning needs, uses appropriate resources, incorporating planning for care after discharge. Consistently evaluates the patient's comprehension and adapts teaching methods accordingly.
- Helps drive improvement of department score for patient satisfaction on unit-based scorecard, through peer-to-peer accountability to service standards.

- Contributes towards meeting department financial targets on unit-based scorecard through decreasing length of stay, optimizing efficiency and other areas according to department specifications.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identifies and presents areas for innovation, efficiency and improvement in patient care or unit operations using evidence-based practice literature. Offers innovative solutions through evidence-based practice/performance improvement projects and shared governance activities.
- Champions new care pathways or service line implementation to improve service to the community. Identifies trends for improvement opportunities or practice changes and supports initiatives. Researches the change and presents options to shared governance and leadership.

EDUCATION
- Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Two years registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure -- Compact Licensure - Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency) AND
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) AND
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) within 4 months
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - PREFERRED
