This role is on-site in Cheyenne, WY. Per Diem is provided.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team, working on diverse construction projects such as underground utility installation and site grading. This role requires an experienced professional with a strong understanding of civil construction practices and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights to support construction activities.
Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring constant awareness of co-workers’ locations and maintaining eye contact as needed.
Adhere to all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations, reporting any issues to the supervisor promptly.
Execute daily tasks and meet project expectations as directed by the foreman.
Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, documenting findings in accordance with company policies.
Perform minor equipment maintenance and servicing, escalating major issues to the supervisor.
Train and mentor less-experienced team members on equipment operation, servicing, and repair.
Assist with general labor tasks as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment operation or equivalent combination of education and training.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively under varied working conditions.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic math for maintaining time and material records, as well as interpreting blueprints or project documents.
Strong ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Willingness to travel and work in diverse locations, as job sites may change daily.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including potential night shifts, depending on job, location, and season.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Perform physically demanding tasks requiring significant use of arms and legs, including standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, talking, and hearing.
Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to exhaust fumes, gasoline, diesel fuel, and loud noise.
Comfort working in potentially harsh weather conditions.

This role demands a seasoned professional with comprehensive knowledge of civil construction and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mainline excavators to excavate and set sewer and water pipes in urban settings at a rate of 90-100 cubic yards per hour.
Excavate and set rural water lines in field settings at a rate of 220-250 cubic yards per hour.
Utilize prior experience with trench shoring to ensure safe excavation practices.
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights.
Maintain a safe work environment by staying aware of co-workers’ locations and maintaining eye contact as needed.
Adhere to company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations, reporting any issues to the supervisor promptly.
Follow the foreman’s directions for daily tasks and project-specific expectations.
Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, documenting findings per company policies.
