The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Inspect boxes for damage, ensure boxes have all parts (foam inserts, etc.). Paints boxes and cover labels.


Essential duties and responsibilities (3-5 core functions representing 80% of time spent):

  1. Inspect boxes for damage.
  2. Ensure boxes have appropriate packaging such as foam inserts or other packaging materials.
  3. Prepare boxes for painting.
  4. Paints boxes to cover all previous shipping or mailing labels.

Position Overview


As the Material Handler Team Lead , you will manage a team of three, ensuring the efficient execution of daily building support services. Your responsibilities will include handling office furniture, equipment, official records, secure and non-secure files, and office setups. This role also involves assembling and disassembling furniture, repairing office furnishings, managing office equipment (computers, copiers, monitors, etc.), and providing logistical support within a 100-mile radius of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise a team of three in executing building support services.
  • Oversee office furniture assembly, disassembly, repairs, and inspections.
  • Manage the transportation of excess furniture and supplies to FEMA facilities.
  • Maintain office equipment, replenish hand sanitizers, and support conference room setups.
  • Provide help desk support for furniture-related inquiries and requests.
  • Coordinate with the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) to ensure contract compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Document and submit meeting minutes within two (2) business days for all discussions with the COR regarding performance, procedures, and issue resolution.
Qualifications & Skills


  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A valid driver's license
  • 5+ years experience in material handling, logistics, or facilities support, preferably in support of the Federal Government.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport office furniture and equipment.
  • Familiarity with government facility procedures is a plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform diagnosis, and repairs on various types of Material Handling machinery and attachments.

  • Perform Planned Maintenance (PM) on machines utilizing manufacture guidelines.

  • Promote a positive safety culture while following company safely polices and regulations.
  • Stay current on all safety training/certifications including OSHA, MSHA, fork-lift, Smith Driving
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write service reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Wage Range $32 to $40

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
