Pay Rate:  $32-$40 per hour

Schedule:  1st shift, 7 on 7 off Sun through Sat 06:45 am-19:15 pm

Duration:  6 Months +

About the Role:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform specimen handling, processing, testing, and result reporting per lab procedures and SOPs.
  • Analyze and release test results; report STAT/critical values as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing, including proficiency samples.
  • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and lab safety regulations.
  • Document QC, calibrations, maintenance, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Identify and troubleshoot test system issues; escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled and tracked.
  • Keep the lab clean and organized; maintain general appearance.
  • Attend required training sessions, department meetings, and participate in inspections if needed.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Solid understanding of laboratory testing principles and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices.
  • Proficient with computer systems and able to navigate multiple lab platforms.
  • Broad knowledge across different areas of the laboratory.


Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Technology (preferred), or
  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts (BS/BA) in Chemistry or Biology, or
  • Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or
  • Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR   (published March 14, 1990).

  • Must provide a detailed credential evaluation  from IERF  (International Education Research Foundation).
  • For U.S.-Educated Candidates:
  • Must provide a detailed original transcript .
  • Certification Requirements:
  • Must possess or be eligible for national certification  as a Medical Technologist (MT)  or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) .
  • Certification must be from a recognized organization , such as:
  • ASCP  (American Society for Clinical Pathology), or
  • AMT  (American Medical Technologists).


Work Experience:

5–7-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. National and State licensure as required.

Special Requirements:

1. Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.

2. Must interact with other departments.
