What You’ll Do:

  • Perform general maintenance duties, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs to ensure the property remains in excellent condition.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests promptly, prioritizing work orders based on urgency and importance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address any issues before they become major problems.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and that the property complies with all health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in multifamily housing or a similar environment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general carpentry.
  • Experience with HVAC certification, EPA certification, or other relevant maintenance credentials is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • Availability to be on-call for resident emergency maintenance issues.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for identifying and performing all regular maintenance activities at at our new apartment building, Scribe in Norwalk, CT. This includes responding to resident requests and managing their schedule of work as set forth by the Maintenance Superintendent. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute maintenance requests as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent
  • Perform building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs
  • Provide friendly, responsive service to the residents
  • Prioritize maintenance requests so building-critical issues and customer requests are dealt with quickly
  • Perform checklist walkthroughs and verify of services rendered by subcontractors
  • Accurately record and report their own time
  • Respond to maintenance requests at the direction of the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager when the Maintenance Superintendent is not available
  • Accurately communicate work requested and work executed to the Maintenance Superintendent
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in building maintenance (experience or familiarity with all trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair).
  • Must have a current driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • This is full-time position (no overtime)
  • Candidates will be required to work Monday – Saturday and rotate being on call for any emergencies
