  • Ensure HR practices comply with TSA policies, state and federal labor laws, and applicable regulatory agencies (including US DOL, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, OFCCP, Civil Rights Department, and CAL/OSHA).
  • Partner with Compliance Coordinator to resolve regional compliance issues and maintain accurate reporting.

Training & Development

  • Facilitate HR training sessions within the assigned region and, as needed, Command-wide.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to regional HR staff, building capability and strengthening team effectiveness.
  • Deliver continuous education to field leadership on HR policies, compliance requirements, and employee engagement best practices.

Administration, Reporting & Special Projects

  • Review and validate HR TSAMM submissions for weekly Command Finance Council (CFC); finalize submissions for approval and entry into the TSAMM system.
  • Generate and analyze reports on personnel, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and risk management for Command and regional leadership.
  • Communicate HR policy and procedure updates across the assigned region.
  • Lead and complete HR projects assigned by the Command HR Director, ensuring timely delivery and organizational alignment.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities reasonably within the scope of the position as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years minimum experience in HR with at least one year in HR management; or 5 in HR management.
  • Must have at least 2 years of employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Experience with theft investigation Preferred.
  • SHRM/PHR is a Plus.
  • Experience managing HR operations within a multi-site / remote environment preferred.
  • Possess a high level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and discretion with support from Command HR
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented, accurate and precise.
  • Strong computer skills, including email, MS Office and related business & communication tools.
  • Valid Driver License required with good driving record.

Position Summary:

The HR Specialist provides key Human Resources support to SIG employees, managers and Human Resource Business Partners in various areas including, but not limited to, HR processes, employee relations, administrative functions, and communication.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the front-line resource for answering employee's general questions including but not limited to, interpretations of human resources policies and procedures, HR System navigation questions, payroll, leave of absence, benefits; Directs employees to the appropriate HRBP to address complex questions and/or follow-up to ensure employee's concerns have been addressed.
  • Aid employees through the voluntary resignation, and retirement processes. Educate exiting employees regarding their benefits, equity and final pay implications related to resignation.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
  • Facilitates HR system transactions including but not limited to terminations, pay changes, promotions, and employee data changes
  • Ability to be flexible, a team player and interface professionally with all levels of employees, including taking personal responsibility for customer satisfaction, providing clear explanations and making an extra effort to satisfy customer needs.
  • Assists with the creation, development, implementation, and maintenance of new or existing HR policies, and companywide policies
  • High level of professionalism, especially in maintaining discretion in confidential situations
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Complete I-9 documentation and verification of related employment documents
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Associates / Bachelor’s Degree or experience equivalent
  • 2+ years previous experience in Human Resources
  • Capable of handling difficult situations by demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality.
