Position Description:

The Safety Compliance Coordinator at Flatland Energy Services is responsible for promoting occupational health and safety awareness, ensuring compliance with company and client safety requirements, and maintaining training and documentation to support organizational safety goals. This position provides administrative and operational support for all safety compliance programs, with a strong emphasis on compliance platforms, drug testing, and safety training.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Operator Qualification compliance; conduct and assist in new hire orientation.
     
  • Conduct Operator Qualification testing for NCCER, EWN, and Veriforce.
     
  • Administer online safety training programs (KPA), including scheduling, assignment, and reporting.
     
  • Manage compliance across DISA, ISNetworld, Veriforce, and other client platforms to ensure accuracy and up-to-date status.
     
  • Coordinate and collect drug and alcohol testing, including DISA testing for onboarding and random programs.
     
  • Maintain records of all safety training, drug/alcohol testing, and compliance documentation.
     
  • Track and manage corrective actions, incident reporting, and safety statistics through KPA EHS and other tracking systems.
     
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
     
  • Record and distribute safety meeting minutes; prepare compliance reports, graphs, and presentations for leadership review.
     
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and client requirements related to safety and health programs.

  • Operator Qualification compliance experience required.

The primary purpose of the Safety Compliance Specialist is to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained within our business in alignment with industry standards.   • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: To OSHA, EPA, DOT, NHTSA, AQMD, ADA and any other relevant regulations
  • Safety Protocols: Analyze and update EHS / Workplace safety plans, policies, and procedures during the entire operational process, including both vehicle and passenger safety.
  • Safety Assessments: Conduct regular safety assessments and audits of organizations, procedures, policies, etc. to identify gaps. This includes items such as Incident Response, pre/post mission inspections, training, workplace safety, etc. Identify and address safety risks promptly through appropriate escalation paths.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze safety data, including incident reports and safety metrics. Utilize data insights to detect trends, areas needing improvement, and opportunities to enhance organizational safety.
  • Reports: Prepare and submit safety compliance reports while collaborating with the Safety Assurance team. Maintain meticulous records of safety documentation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Safety to address assessment and analysis outcomes, operational safety concerns, implement safety enhancements, and drive continuous improvement in operational safety.
  • Safety Culture: Assist the various safety sub-teams by collaborating with cross-functional groups to promote and support safety processes and procedures.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule. There may be times when they have to work an earlier or later shift to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field or Equivalent Experience

Technical / Specialised Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Position Summary: The Safety & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs that comply with industry regulations, ICIs company policies, and best practices. This position plays a critical role in protecting our people, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the trust of our clients. This role will also serve as the primary liaison for client-specific compliance programs, including Walmart, ensuring ICIs policies, documentation, and work environments meet or exceed expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and continuously improved ICIs Safety and Compliance Programs to ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA and other applicable regulations, as well as client-specific requirements
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability by modeling safe practices, promoting employee engagement, and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety walks, inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance reviews across project sites, ensuring timely follow-up on identified risks
  • Lead and enforce compliance with critical safety procedures (including Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, confined space entry, PPE standards and other standards)
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure employees are appropriately trained in safety awareness and procedures. Deliver engaging and effective safety and compliance training for field staff and project teams
  • Maintain and regularly update all safety and compliance policies, manuals, and training materials in alignment with industry standards, regulatory changes, and client-specific directives
  • Conduct and document internal compliance audits of jobsites, trailers, and project documentation, driving accountability for corrective actions.
  • Manage environmental compliance, including stormwater management, hazardous waste handling, spill prevention and air quality controls
  • Serve as primary liaison for client compliance programs (e.g. Walmart), ensuring ICIs plans, policies, trailer setups, and audit checklists meet or exceed client expectations
  • Establish standardized procedures and documentation for project trailers, safety binders, and compliance materials to ensure consistency across projects
  • Develop and track key safety performance indicators (KPSs), providing regular reports and recommendations to leadership
  • Stay informed on emergency safety regulations, technologies, and best practices and advise leadership on proactive strategies
  • Travel to both local and out of town project sites approximately 3 to 4 days per week as required

Skills and Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and best practices
  • Proven leadership, training and coaching abilities with the skill to influence all levels of the organization
  • Strong risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing large-scale construction safety programs (Walmart or similar preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player with strong time-management skills
  • Professional presence and demeanor in all interactions

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, occupational safety or similar preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years leadership experience in construction safety and compliance
  • Experience with large-scale construction compliance programs (e.g., Walmart) preferred

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification (Required)
  • OSHA 510, 500, CHST, CSP Certifications (Preferred)
  • Ability to obtain the Walmart Safety, Employment, Waste, Stormwater Compliance Certification
    within 1 month of hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires walking on rough/uneven terrain, frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights, including bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing on the job site.
  • Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods. Climbing multiple flights of stairs and ladders repeatedly.
  • Occasionally may lift to 50 lbs.

Product Safety & Compliance Engineer

The Product Safety & Compliance Engineer is responsible for leading the verification and validation of products across development, sustaining, compliance, and certification activities. This role provides the infrastructure, test methods, and capabilities necessary to ensure design integrity, manufacturing reliability, quality, and compliance. This individual will ensure that all products, assemblies, and components are thoroughly tested, meet performance and certification requirements, and are free from defects after reaching the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute verification and validation test methods, protocols, and reports for components, assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Design test cases, methodologies, processes, and acceptance criteria to validate product life cycle performance and quality metrics.
  • Build and maintain best-in-class test capabilities, including automated test equipment (ATE), data acquisition, logging, and analytics tools.
  • Conduct functional testing of electro-mechanical assemblies, mechanical components, and electrical/control circuits.
  • Integrate Design for Test (DFT) principles into new product development (NPD) and engineering change (ECR) processes.
  • Develop and implement test methods for root cause analysis (RCA) of failures.
  • Lead lab testing and certification activities to UL, CE, and ETL standards, ensuring compliance with ASME A17.5, ASME A18.1, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with certification agencies (UL, ETL, TUV, CSA) and external laboratories to achieve product compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional product engineering experience, including 5+ years in a lead or senior test engineering role.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical system testing and validation.
  • Proficiency with CAD and 3D modeling software platforms such as SolidWorks and CREO.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), environmental, and vibration testing methods.
  • Direct experience with lab testing for UL, CE, and ETL certifications and compliance to ASME A17.5 and ASME A18.1 standards.
  • Working knowledge of product compliance and certification processes with agencies such as UL, ETL, TUV, CSA, and external labs.
  • Experience in FDA medical device compliance is a plus.

The Safety Compliance Coordinator at Flatland Energy Services is responsible for promoting occupational health and safety awareness, ensuring compliance with company and client safety requirements, and maintaining training and documentation to support organizational safety goals. This position provides administrative and operational support for all safety compliance programs, with a strong emphasis on compliance platforms, drug testing, and safety training.

  • Administer and maintain Operator Qualification compliance; conduct and assist in new hire orientation.
     
  • Conduct Operator Qualification testing for NCCER, EWN, and Veriforce.
     
  • Administer online safety training programs (KPA), including scheduling, assignment, and reporting.
     
  • Manage compliance across DISA, ISNetworld, Veriforce, and other client platforms to ensure accuracy and up-to-date status.
     
  • Coordinate and collect drug and alcohol testing, including DISA testing for onboarding and random programs.
     
  • Maintain records of all safety training, drug/alcohol testing, and compliance documentation.
     
  • Track and manage corrective actions, incident reporting, and safety statistics through KPA EHS and other tracking systems.
     
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
     
  • Record and distribute safety meeting minutes; prepare compliance reports, graphs, and presentations for leadership review.
     
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and client requirements related to safety and health programs.
     
  • Provide administrative support for regulatory and client audits, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
     
  • Analyze safety data, identify trends, and recommend corrective measures to improve safety performance.
     
  • Support ongoing employee safety awareness through regular safety training sessions and communication.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Operator Qualification compliance experience required.
     
  • Operator Qualification Master Certification preferred.
