FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
AliveDx is recruiting for a GTS Field Service Engineer to join the remote Technical Service team working across the US. The candidate should be based in Arizona. The role is full time, permanent, working 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
YOUR MISSION
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support both pre- and post-sales activities by collaborating closely with the sales team and customers to align on expectations and ensure successful, well-coordinated equipment installations.
- Conduct site readiness assessments and perform Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) procedures in accordance with AliveDx protocol.
- Deliver on-site and remote technical support, including system installations, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and software/hardware upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues with a first-time fixed approach to maintain instrument performance and support uninterrupted customer workflow.
- Train customers proper system operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Participate in product demonstrations, technical evaluations, and customer training sessions at both customer sites and AliveDx facilities
- Document all service activities, findings, and customer complaints in CRM systems accurately and in a timely manner, following GDP, GMP, and company procedures.
- Facilitate collaboration between field and internal teams through clear communication and actionable field feedback to support broader service and product improvements.
- Ensure field readiness by managing tools, spare parts, travel logistics, and service inventory.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with customers by consistently delivering timely, effective, and professional service.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or related technical field
- Experience in Field Service, Technical Support or troubleshooting highly complex diagnostic instrumentation
YOUR COMPETENCIES
- Experience with and/or certified in regulatory environments (FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO13485) and GMP.
- Knowledge of IT, networking TCP/IP, security.
- Skilled in analysing log files, uptading firmware and resolving software issues
- Knowledge and experience of implementing LIS (Laboratory Information System) connectivity using protocol ASTM or HL7.
- High degree of technical competence & confidence with a solution orientated mindset.
- Proficiency with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective customer engagement skills which include, a positive attitude, helpful customer interaction, and maintenance of ongoing customer relationships.
- Exceptional analytical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Collaborative team player dedicated to achieving shared goals.
- Ability to travel up to 90% of the time.
- Availability to be available for overtime after normal working hours.

Position Summary: 1-3 years’ hands-on experience in field service and test engineering in the power distribution industry. In depth experience with power control systems, PLCs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and schematics is a must. Experience with protective relays, generators, Deif AGC controllers and B&R HMI’s is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex mechanical and electrical tests to ensure that physical characteristics, mechanical operations, and electrical functions conform to design and industry standards.
- Verify Sequence of Operation for sophisticated Power Distribution Equipment.
- Perform complex Factory Witness Tests
- Data center commissioning, new construction experience, LOTO and energy management, NFPA 70E training
- Travel to customer sites 25% of the time, to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, or perform field measurements of electrical switchgear.
- Provide customer communications on scheduling, budgeting, KPI reviews and attend all customer meetings as required
- Assesses defects and malfunctions and makes recommendations for improvement to Mechanical Engineers, Design Engineers and Management.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to improve test methods and find resolution for problems
- Set up and maintain test equipment.
- Perform Point to Point, Hi-Pot and Current Injection Tests
- Conduct and coordinate proper safety protocol and PPE at all times
- Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, recognize components and their functions

Responsibilities:
- Perform technical assignments to install, modify, and repair our laser based Dental Systems
- Troubleshoot and repair of equipment both in-house and at customer sites after analyzing mechanical, electrical and software failures.
- Disassemble malfunctioning dental devices and use standardized testing procedures; examine and test mechanisms for defects.
- Replace or repair defective parts which may require modification or replacement components.
- Reassembles dental devices or equipment and tests assembly for conformance to specifications.
- Maintain an inventory of materials, including electrical, mechanical, and optical components for the field servicing of customer devices.
- Inspect devices and test equipment periodically and adjust calibration to ensure functioning within specified standards.
- Complete in a timely manner, standard equipment documentation and reports necessary for FDA compliance.
- Provide customers with timely and accurate technical information in a positive and straight forward manner.
- When needed, provide training to dental office staff on the set up and maintenance of the dental laser.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience in a Field Service capacity, a minimum of 3 years’ experience solving problems with computer hardware, software and medical devices preferred
- Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (lasers and optics valued)
- ASEE or equivalent technical education
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work independently
- Physical ability to stand and sit for extended periods and lift and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- May require after hours telephone support or on-call availability
- MS Office Suite experience required
- Experience in Dental or Medical practices reliant on advanced technologies a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities:
Provides service support to customers through maintaining equipment located at customer site by performing the maintenance, repair, and installation.
Services mobile, general radiographic, R&F, DR, and cardiovascular equipment by providing diagnostic maintenance, repairs, and installation. Perform independently in both routine and complex tasks.
Completes all administrative duties in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Our Field Service Engineers provide our customers with the installation and support of meat processing for the hotdog and sausage industry (industrial processing equipment); preventative maintenance; service and repair and any additional training required. Most of the work occurs at the customer locations and therefore 60 percent travel is required.

JOB SUMMARY:
To provide field based technical support for the service and maintenance needs of the SMS product line. This will include support for reactive service calls, planned maintenance activities, field based system upgrades and/or enhancements, and assistance with local sales and marketing activities in the assigned territory. A major goal of this position is to ensure that customer satisfactions levels are maintained at the highest level possible. This position reports to the Area Service Manager for the territory, and will have frequent interactions with the National Service Business Manager. Additionally, frequent interactions with the Dealer network, direct service personnel and customers will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Perform preventative maintenance, service, and repair on SMS imaging products based on training and experience.
Perform the installation of products and lead or coordinate installation activities with required service personnel.
Diagnose and resolve networking problems, close calls, return inventory, provide FCO and PM documentation, etc. in a timely manner.
Maintain excellent customer relationships through effective customer service, timely and efficient installations, service, and maintenance.
Maintaining daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
Aide and support the Company’s business through the overall promotion of the company and it products.
Submit administrative paperwork such as travel expenses, mileage expenses, overtime schedules and other forms as required in a timely fashion.
Perform other duties, with limited assistance, as assigned by the Area Service Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related discipline is required, plus at least five years’ experience as an x-ray field service technician or engineer. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics is a required. Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly instructions is required. Computer skills including Word, Excel and others that are pertinent to the position are required. PC/Laptop skills are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Individual must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short correspondence, send and receive communications via e-mail. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal staff and others in person, via phone or e-mail. Excellent inter-personal skills and written/oral skills are required. ·
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills are required including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all common units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, trigonometry and geometry. Must be able to convert these skills for use on the computer.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to generate work schedules to effectively complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet schedules.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Moderate physical demands for this position with under 50% standing and bending is required. Proper use of ergonomic computer accessories may lessen hand and wrist problems related to computer use.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in this work area is generally minimal.
