As a staff accountant, you will serve as a primary point of contact between our clients and
The Tax Man Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for managing weekly, monthly, quarterly,
and annual tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Success in this role requires the
ability to manage multiple ongoing client relationships with professionalism and excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal. Tasks will include individual and business
income taxation, property tax, sales tax, payroll, and bookkeeping. This position is for full-time year-round, with additional hours from January 15th through April 15th. We also have an interest in reliable seasonal preparers. Feel free to apply if that is your interest as well.
Our pay package is comparable to industry averages, with considerations for experience.

What you should bring to the role:
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing 1040 (with all schedules), 1120S, 1065, 940 and 941 returns.
- Experience leading and mentoring and reviewing work of other tax preparers on a team.
- Strong technology skills including Microsoft office, CRM, and tax preparation software (Lacerte exp. a plus)
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for detail and professional engaging client demeanor
- Bilingual Fluency in English/Spanish is a plus
Education and other requirements:
- Four Year Degree with emphasis in Business or Accounting preferred

Summary:
With oversight and direction of the Partner, this position is responsible for successful delivery of tax compliance engagements by leading all aspects of the tax planning, preparation, and review process of all tax engagements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead engagement teams and work with Partners providing day-to-day management of accounting services to clients.
· Identify effective tax solutions for new and existing clients in various industries.
· Conduct complex tax research to support client’s tax compliance and reporting.
· Mentor and develop engagement teams providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance.
· Manages department with emphasis on success.
· Identify value-added opportunities for new and existing clients.
· Manage and grow a portfolio of clients.
· Assist with drafting and presenting proposals to new and existing clients.
- Provide tax data for clients and third-party professionals.

· Performs final review of all tax workpapers and returns and ensures that all review comments are cleared prior to filing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required.

- Minimum of 2-3 years as Tax Manager experience; 6 years of supervisory experience.
Physical/Mental/Visual Demands and Work Environment:
· This job is conducted in an office work environment, sitting most of the time, working on a computer .
· Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
· Some travel may be required.
Work Schedule:
· Typically, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
· Additional hours are required during peak season.
