Job Description
Employee is responsible for bulk feed delivery, operation of feed mill, customer service, and bag feed delivery. Work with other employees to insure accurate and timely completion of customer orders. Employee will be cross trained and expected to work for other employees on vacation, sick etc.
Job Responsibilities
1) Feedmill operations
a) Mixing and delivery of bulk and bag feed mixes
b) Bagging of feed mixes and grain
c) Unloading of grain and other incoming products
d) Haul grain from bins to the feed mill and load grain onto trucks
e) Daily feed inventory and grain storage paperwork
2) General Maintenance
a) Refill and clean mill bins as needed
b) Restock and rotate mill bag inventory stock
c) Sweep floors, wash trucks, and garbage removal
d) Clean and check all scales for accuracy
e) General maintenance on trucks and equipment
3) Customer Service
a) Load up customers feed and farm supply orders etc.
b) Refill L.P. tanks and provide other customer assistance
4) Miscellaneous duties
a) Haul needed stock into mill and store from warehouse
b) Cut grass, shovel snow and other yard work
c) Daily bulk fuel plant tank readings and inventory log book
Job Requirements
* Must be able to lift 50# - 100# feed bags
* Must be able to climb ladders to inspect bins and do general maintenance
* Must be able to work longer hours during grain harvest seasons
* Must maintain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
Annual Base Salary
*Annual salary $66,000 per year, hourly rate equivalent $8.21 ( 66,000/2340 hours per year)
*Job requires 45 hours per week on average (2340 hours per year)
*Any weeks over 45 hours will be added onto a log card and any weeks short of 45 hours will be subtracted off.
*A 1,500 advance check is paid on the 15th of each month
*Balance of salary, less taxes and other deductions, is paid on the last day of the month
* Performance and wage review held annually in June and take effect in July.
*CDL license: employee must attain within 90 days of hire. Company will pay for training cost and time spent
Attending classes will count towards hours worked. Employee to do on-line coarse and take test at DMV
On their own time. If employee is employed for less than 2 years the prorate portion of training cost will be
Deducted from paycheck.
Benefits
Health Insurance (benefit would start 1st of month following start date)
*Company pays 95% of premium cost for employees and 50% of premium cost for spouse and children.
* Employee only coverage will cost employee $24. 6/month. Dependent coverage cost 161.41per month
* Current plan deductible is 6,000 per year
* Company puts 2,400 per year for employee into Health Savings Account (HSA)
401(k) Retirement Plan: (benefit would start after 1 year of employment)
*Company matches 50 cents on each $ .00 an employee puts in the plan up to 2% of their wages
*Company also puts in a % of each employees wages into the plan as a bonus each year based on company profits
Vacation Time:
*One week after first and second year of employment (2027-2028)
*Two weeks after 3 to 10 years of employment (2029-2036)
*Three weeks after 10 years of employment (2037- thereafter)
Personal Time:
*45 hours per year starting in 2026
*Any unused vacation or personal time will be paid out in January each year (salary divided by 2,340 = hourly rate)
Holidays:
*Receive 8 hours credit for each of 6 major holidays
Work Schedule:
*Week days 7:00AM until 4:00PM or until bulk feed deliveries are done for the day (1/2 hour break for lunch)
*Every other Saturday 7:30AM until 12:30PM (no breaks)
*Flexible hours based on business and personal needs
*Will need to work longer hours during grain harvest.

Position Overview
The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for transporting heavy construction equipment and support vehicles to and from job sites, equipment yards, and shops within a 50-mile radius of Fredericksburg, Virginia. This is a critical, hands-on role requiring at least two years of experience in lowboy hauling and recovery, along with a Class A CDL and relevant endorsements. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently and in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy construction equipment using a lowboy trailer.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required by DOT and company policy.
- Operate and maintain assigned trucks and trailers in safe working condition.
- Ensure all loads are legally secured and compliant with DOT regulations, including placarding and flagging as needed.
- Plan routes and obtain required permits for oversize or overweight loads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shop staff, and field personnel.
- Work in the shop, yard, and occasionally on construction job sites in a variety of conditions.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and time sheets.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement (X or H) and Tanker Endorsement (N).
- Minimum 5 years of experience transporting heavy equipment using lowboy trailers.
- Clean driving record with proven safety and compliance history.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, load securement practices, and permitting requirements.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing on/off equipment, and working outdoors year-round.
- Ability to operate and load all types of construction equipment for transport.
- Familiarity with military and federal job site access procedures is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience working with trucks and heavy equipment is preferred.
- Must pass mandatory drug screening and background checks for secure site access.
