Position Summary:
This position serves as a working supervisor within Channel Management, overseeing two full-time employees and managing 25–45 temporary employees during tax season. The temporary workforce supports key functions such as mail sorting and extraction, batching, and data entry, and may be utilized throughout the year during periods of high mail volume and processing demand. This position is responsible for training all temporary employees, adapting instruction methods to accommodate individual learning styles, and ensuring adherence to established procedures. Position assigns and reviews work, monitors productivity, and approves time for both permanent and temporary staff. As a subject matter expert in mail extraction and return preparation for scanning, the incumbent provides guidance, resolves issues, and ensures high standards of accuracy and efficiency in document handling. Additional duties include performing data corrections on scanned returns, vouchers, and related forms, as well as supporting research staff in generating vouchers and outbound correspondence for incomplete or incorrect submissions. Strong organizational skills and in-depth knowledge of Kansas Department of Revenue (KDOR) tax systems are essential for locating and processing documents lacking proper identification. The position works collaboratively with other Channel supervisors to coordinate workload and maintain smooth operations. Overtime may be required during tax season to meet critical deadlines.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit.
Preferred Experience: Experience training others, including the ability to tailor instruction to different learning styles. Demonstrated experience conducting research and applying findings to work processes. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with others to achieve shared goals. Experience performing accurate and efficient data entry, with attention to detail. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
