Fidelity Investments is seeking an Associate Portfolio
Manager to join our dynamic team in Chicago, Illinois.
In this role, you will work closely with senior portfolio managers and research analysts to support the management of investment portfolios. Your responsibilities will include assisting with portfolio construction, monitoring performance, conducting quantitative analysis, and supporting investment decisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the construction and rebalancing of investment portfolios based on strategic allocation targets and manager research.
- Monitor portfolio performance, analyze attribution, and prepare performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct quantitative analysis on portfolio characteristics, risk metrics, and market data.
- Support senior portfolio managers in evaluating potential investments and executing trades.
- Assist in the preparation of investment presentations and materials for client meetings and internal reviews.
- Perform due diligence on investment strategies and external managers.
- Maintain and update portfolio models and databases.
- Stay informed about market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes impacting portfolios.
- Collaborate with research analysts to integrate research findings into portfolio decisions.
- Respond to inquiries from internal teams (e.g., Sales, Client Service) regarding portfolio positioning and performance.
- Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in investment strategy discussions and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or progress towards CFA designation strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in investment management, research, or a related financial analysis role.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, and portfolio theory.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, Python, R).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across functions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for investment management is a plus.
