Job Description:

Merck & Co. is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team in Chicago, Illinois. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns for assigned pharmaceutical products and therapeutic areas. This role requires expertise in digital channels, analytics, and the ability to navigate the regulated pharmaceutical marketing landscape to reach healthcare professionals and patients effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies and campaigns (e.g., email, social media, paid search, SEO, websites).
  • Manage digital advertising budgets and optimize campaign performance.
  • Work with agencies and vendors on digital campaign execution.
  • Develop and optimize website content and landing pages.
  • Analyze digital marketing performance data and provide insights.
  • Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to track campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure all digital marketing activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., FDA guidelines) and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., medical, legal, regulatory, IT, brand teams).
  • Stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for digital innovation and lead generation.
  • Manage digital asset libraries and content calendars.
  • Develop reports and presentations on digital marketing performance.
  • Support the development of digital patient engagement programs.
  • Work on digital strategies targeting healthcare professionals and consumers.
  • Manage social media presence and strategy for assigned brands.
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO).
  • Plan and execute paid search campaigns (SEM).
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital channels.
  • Contribute to the overall brand strategy from a digital perspective.
  • Evaluate new digital marketing technologies and platforms.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proven experience planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email, display advertising).
  • Experience with digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Ability to analyze data and identify actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance is essential.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing digital marketing budgets and agencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation platforms is a plus.
