Job Summary: Chevron is seeking an Energy Trading Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. You will support the energy trading desk by conducting market analysis, monitoring positions, managing data, and assisting with trade execution and settlement processes. Job Summary: Chevron is seeking an Energy Trading Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. You will support the energy trading desk by conducting market analysis, monitoring positions, managing data, and assisting with trade execution and settlement processes. This role requires a strong analytical mind, an understanding of energy markets, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trading environment. You will contribute to optimizing trading strategies and managing risk.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor global energy markets, prices, and trading activity.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support trading decisions.
- Develop and maintain models for market forecasting and analysis.
- Track and report on trading positions and exposure.
- Assist traders with executing and settling energy trades (e.g., oil, gas, power).
- Manage and validate trading data from various sources.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on market performance and trading results.
- Ensure compliance with internal trading policies and external regulations.
- Collaborate with risk management, accounting, and operations teams.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in trading data or settlements.
- Research market news and geopolitical events impacting energy prices.
- Support the development and implementation of trading strategies.
- Utilize trading platforms and analytical software.
- Assist with post-trade analysis and performance attribution.
- Maintain documentation of trading activities and analysis.
- Stay updated on new trading technologies and data sources.
- Contribute to improving trading processes and systems.
- This role is crucial for providing analytical support to Chevron's energy trading operations. Qualifications:

- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R).
- Experience with trading platforms (e.g., Allegro, Endur) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of risk management principles is a plus.
