Location: Arlington, VA – Hybrid


We are currently looking for a Business Development Director with background in the Federal and Defense market to join our growing team and expand DeepSig’s Defense & Security business development efforts. If you are adept at grasping and translating technical ideas, enjoy finding solutions to complex challenges, and have experience in the US Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD), we may have the perfect role for you!


Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth within the Department of Defense (DoD) and related federal agencies.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue high-impact business opportunities, including direct contracts, long-term partnerships, and new market entry points in the defense and national security sector.
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle—prospecting, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing—ensuring alignment with both client requirements and company objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including DoD officials, military personnel, defense contractors, and other relevant parties.
  • Provide strategic guidance on navigating and managing the federal acquisition process, including FAR/DFARS compliance, proposal strategy, and contract execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, operations, and finance teams to align business development efforts with product capabilities, technical roadmaps, and company growth objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in communicating the value and application of DeepSig’s AI/ML software solutions within mission-critical defense use cases.
  • Represent DeepSig at key industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote our capabilities and solutions.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on defense market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Document and organize pursuits in CRM tool; to include customer mapping, sales cycle stages, and key actions
  • Provide senior leadership with regular reports on pipeline health, growth forecasts, and strategic recommendations to support corporate goals
  • Contribute to long-range strategic planning efforts, including go-to-market strategy, capture plans, and investment prioritization for new federal growth areas.
  • If applicable: Mentor and guide junior business development or capture team members to build internal capabilities and maintain consistent execution.

Qualifications :

  • Passion for driving high-growth objectives and supporting advanced technical solutions in national security and defense.
  • 8+ years of experience in the defense industry with the US Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense. Background in signal collection, spectrum management, or communication fields are ideal
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in DoD business development or consulting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience briefing senior U.S. government and military officials on technical and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to engage with clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Background or experience in traditional FAR-based contracting and “non-traditional” accelerated acquisitions is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux OS is a plus.
  • This position requires eligibility for a Top Secret/SCI Security clearance.

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Business Management Analyst will support the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Client Onboarding, Due Diligence Innovation & Strategy within Wealth Management Operations. This role involves partnering with Finance, Operations Leads, and HR to support senior leadership and provide strategic assistance in executive communications. The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with business objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Provide business management support to the CAO for Client Onboarding, Due Diligence Innovation & Strategy.  
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations Leads, and HR to support senior leadership initiatives.  
  • Deliver strategic support for executive communications and reporting.  
  • Manage recurring and ad hoc reporting deliverables.  
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Take initiative and contribute effectively within a collaborative team setting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting operations.  
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • Familiarity with financial forecasting, headcount management, and vendor management.  
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.  
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
