Under the direction of the Network Systems Director, the Sr. Cisco Network /VOIP Engineer is responsible for supporting the firm’s global LAN/WAN, VOIP, and Wireless infrastructure. Responsibilities include providing third level technical support for all infrastructure based projects including equipment installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution for the firm’s 24x7 environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support for all infrastructure based projects including equipment installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution.
Adhere to established SLAs in responding to and completing service tickets, including providing a high level of customer support, detailed root cause analysis, and trouble reports for system outages. Adhere to established departmental operational policies and procedures. Provide 3rd level support to the telecom team.
Act as a contact person for outside vendors during installation, production changes, and repair and/or removal of equipment or services.
Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and issues affecting system performance. Experience using Wireshark.
Maintain accurate diagrams and configurations for all network devices globally.
Accessible to perform after hours support duties on a rotating 24x7 basis to sustain networking systems and end user support.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of eight to ten years of experience Supporting a critical core Cisco Wireless, LAN/WAN global infrastructure spanning several geographical locations and data centers. CCNP, CCDP, Voice, CCIP required. Experience in enterprise application platforms (VMware Networking, Palo alto, Brocade, Azure Cloud network/infrastructure technologies, and Microsoft /Zoom Telephony solution) extremely desirable/preferred.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving skills required with the ability to make recommendations based on findings and best practices.
A proven professional with excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and time management skills. Strong team player.
Proven experience in the following required:
- In-depth experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting converged global network infrastructure consisting of the following: Cisco IOS, NXOS, 802.1x, vPC, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs, Access Lists, and LAN/WAN/Wireless routing protocols.
- In-depth hands on experience with Cisco Nexus 9300, Catalyst 3800, 9300, 9400, 9500, 9800, Catalyst Wireless Controllers & APs, ISR 4400, and SilverPeak WAN Optimization Appliances
- Cisco VoIP experience (phone configuration, dial plan, CUCM, CER, Call Manager, Cisco CUBE configuration, etc.)

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires responsiveness at all times (24x7) to the operational needs of the firm, system problems or outages, and availability for scheduled off hours maintenance. Some domestic and international travel may be required.

- Research and advise on potential software for Government purchase. Maintain 437 MXG-specific software IAW AFNOC and DAF or AFI requirements on NIPR/SIPR systems and associated VTC/SVTCs
- Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SVTC equipment including accountability and inventory
- Administer the 437 MXG and all subordinate unit SharePoint sites, including sub-pages. Manage permissions, provide SharePoint utilization advice, and provide technical solutions to maximize SharePoint effectiveness
- Develop and maintain current events and informational presentations to be displayed in MXG facilities, using Microsoft Office, Adobe and any other program authorized for use
- Attend regular meetings that require MXG-IT presence or affect MXG-IT functions and act as subject matter experts, except as prohibited
- Use the current ticketing system to submit communications work orders and trouble tickets to 628th Communications Squadron as applicable

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Network Support Engineer/Specialist. Facilitate Collaborative Support Activities : Schedule meetings with users and vendors as needed to discuss opportunities where performance or best practices are reviewed and implemented. Manage user accounts across multiple systems. Perform Active Directory administration and support MFA. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (InfoSec, Cloud, Development, Analytics) to implement integrated solutions.
Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues : Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of network-related issues such as connectivity, latency, security, network switches, servers, wireless controllers, WAP and data domains. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for network incidents and service requests, escalating any issues that require subject matter experts or vendor support.

- Ability to analyze and resolve tier 1 and 2 issues, escalating when necessary.

Experienced IT Professional :
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, LAN, WAN, VPN, NTP, and wireless networks.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, DELL switches, Palo Alto, or similar hardware/software.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and packet analysis.
- Experience with Azure cloud platforms.
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation.
- Hands-on experience with VMWare vSAN, vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
- Familiarity with Storage, disaster recovery, and backup solutions such as Veeam, DataDomain.
Proficient in Active Directory and Documentation :
- Possess experience with Active Directory account creation, password resets, distribution groups, and other AD functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of group policy management and creation.
- Ability to produce and maintain documentation, knowledgebase articles, and training materials.
Highly Organized and Detail-Oriented :
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to handle a variety of tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage high-pressure situations effectively with minimal supervision.
- Take the initiative and complete complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
* As an IT professional, you may be required to work in-person additional days to meet operational needs and priorities.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have (A) at least two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional or practical experience in the field of information technology network services, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
- An Associate’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

Full Salary Band: $79,538.68 - $118,661.11
