Visual and Performing Arts Teachers Wanted Summer Positions Available!
The Newburgh Performing Arts Academy (NPAA) and the Poughkeepsie Performing Arts Academy (PPAA) are community schools of the arts that provide formal training in the visual and performing arts to children, youth, and adults ages 3+. NPAA and PPAA were established to provide instruction in the creative arts such as dance, theater, music, literary and visual arts.
Celebrating our 19th successful year, NPAA and PPAA seek to enhance their award-winning performing and visual arts programs by adding to our roster of esteemed faculty in the following disciplines:
Dance  – Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Modern, Contemporary, and Lyrical
Music  – Voice, Chorus, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Recording Studio Engineering, drums, wind instruments.
Visual Arts  - Photography, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Film Making, Computer Based Graphic Arts (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Theater  – Beginner to Advanced Acting Techniques, Musical Theater
Positions are available from September to June on Saturdays during the hours of 9am-5pm and weekdays from 4pm-9pm. Positions also available from July to mid-August during the summer from 9am-4pm. 
Job Description:  All currently available positions are part-time. NPAA and PPAA instructors are responsible for providing high-quality instruction while cultivating learning environments that are most conducive to helping students with various skill levels and interests to reach their highest potential.
Requirements & Qualifications:  Must have experience teaching in your field of interest. Must demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and creativity and must especially enjoy working with youth.

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE
The Communication & Creative Director provides unified leadership across creative content, communication strategy, and worship planning. This role ensures that every Sunday gathering and all church communications reflect the mission and message of Peninsula Covenant Church. With strong communication, organizational, creative, and leadership skills, this person will oversee the entire communications ecosystem while also helping craft thoughtful and cohesive worship experiences.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The Communication and Creative Director will report to the Lead Pastor and collaborate closely with the other senior ministry directors and pastors across PCC ministries. This director will lead and mentor the Communications and Worship team, including the worship leader, creative and graphic designers, tech, program staff, and volunteers. Additionally, the position will focus on building relationships with volunteers and community members to enhance the mission and impact of PCC.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communications Strategy and Oversight (50%)- Lead all internal and external communication efforts to align with the mission, vision, and values of PCC.
- Develop and implement a church-wide communications calendar that integrates ministry areas, events, and sermon series.
- Oversee weekly communication deliverables, including the email bulletin, website content, social media, and announcements.
- Manage the design and execution of all visual assets (graphics, slides, print pieces).
- Provide brand clarity and consistency across all platforms and materials.
- Capture and share compelling stories of life change across digital and in-person platforms.
- Manage communications workflow and requests across departments, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and excellence.
 
- Worship and Creative Direction (30%)- Partner with the Lead Pastor and Worship Department in designing cohesive Sunday services and seasonal events.
- Lead creative planning for sermon series, service elements, and aesthetic expression (visuals, lighting, transitions).
- Guide the use of testimonies, videos, graphics, and visual storytelling to deepen spiritual impact.
- Set vision for stage design and overall visual expression for Sunday worship and special events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, Baptisms).
- Ensure all creative components uphold theological integrity and artistic quality.
 
- Team Leadership and Administration (15%)- Direct and motivate a creative and communications team of staff and volunteers.
- Develop efficient systems and processes to support the communication and planning campus-wide and to the broader community.
- Oversee ministry budgets.
- Foster a team culture of collaboration, feedback, creativity, and spiritual growth.
 
- Other duties as they pertain to and aid in supporting the ministry's principal objectives.

The Director of Visual Art is a year-round leadership position overseeing visual arts education at Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp. Reporting to the Provost, the Director provides visionary leadership for curriculum and programming, teaches classes during the academic year and summer, manages faculty and staff, and cultivates strong relationships with students, alumni, and donors. Responsibilities include faculty recruitment and development, admissions collaboration, guest artist engagement, gallery and facility management, and budget oversight. The Director advances innovative approaches to visual art education, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, and represents Interlochen at the national and international level.
Essential Duties:
- Provide visionary leadership for visual art education at Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp, aligning with institutional goals
- Teach one to two classes each semester and appropriate classes during camp
- Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate visual art faculty and staff, including the Richardson-Spica Fellow Artist-in-Residence program
- Partner with Admissions to recruit and manage visual art student enrollment and review applications
- Schedule and host guest artists for lectures and workshops with students
- Manage the visual art facilities and professional gallery, including exhibitions, visiting artist bookings, contracts, shipping, signage, installation, and supplies
- Develop curriculum, texts, resources, and real-time and virtual learning opportunities with attention to contemporary trends in visual art
- Foster interdisciplinary initiatives across academic and artistic divisions

- Advocate for and represent the visual art program to senior leadership, alumni, and donors
- Balance competing program agendas and faculty needs in a collaborative environment

- Collaborate with Interlochen leadership on presentations and institutional initiatives
- Address curriculum development, faculty teaching assignments, grading disputes, and student or parent concerns
- Master's degree required

Job Summary:
To advance OWCCs mission as the churchs chief storyteller, casting vision, shaping culture, and championing creativity that draws people closer to Jesus. This hands-on role leads the Comm. Arts ministry through vision, planning, and execution across video, design, worship environments, and digital media. The Creative Arts Director both creates and coordinates content, developing systems, volunteers, and strategies that tell OWCCs story with clarity and beauty to inspire people to draw closer to Jesus and to one another. 
Primary Duties:
- Provide direction and oversight for all areas of Communications and Creative Arts, including video, graphic design, digital media, and live production.
- Create and manage content for OWCCs social media, website, livestream, and digital channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging voice.
- Manage creative workflows, timelines, and project coordination across ministries to ensure alignment, clarity, and follow-through.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive creative and communications strategy that aligns with the churchs mission, ministry calendar, and sermon series.
- Collaborate with ministry staff to plan and execute cohesive messaging and storytelling for church-wide initiatives, outreach efforts, and events.
- Lead creative projects from concept to completion: ideating, planning, producing, editing, and delivering materials that support the mission of OWCC.
- Expand OWCCs digital presence through video-first storytelling, social media reels, podcasts, and online engagement strategies that connect with both Christians and those outside of the church.
- Develop and multiply creative leaders who can lead projects and teams with skill, ownership, and spiritual maturity.
- Establish consistent visual design standards and maintain a cohesive brand identity across worship, events, print, web, and social platforms.
- Regularly evaluate creative ministry effectiveness through prayer, reflection, data, and feedback from staff and congregation.
- Model Christlike character and servant leadership, fostering a culture of prayer, humility, and joy in creative work.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or other related creative field preferred; equivalent experience with documented creative portfolio and artistic development may substitute
- Minimum three years of documented experience in creative arts direction, artistic program management, or similar analytical creative role with quantifiable achievements in creative program development, artistic quality improvement, and creative process optimization
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong storytelling instincts with ability to concept, script, film, edit, and distribute narrative-driven content across platforms.
