This vital role within our 24/7 program offers immediate crisis intervention, resources, and support to individuals in urgent need. Shift Types:
This position is part of a 24/7 program, and coverage is needed across all hours. Shifts may include:

- Night Shift (Overnight): 12:00 AM 8:00 AM

YOUR ROLE:
Crisis Intervention Specialists provide 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling over the phone to clients who are experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation, and/or seeking information on available mental health services. The Crisis and Information Hotline answers all calls made to 988 in Marion and Polk counties and acts as after-hours crisis support for multiple community partners. Crisis Intervention Specialists provide crisis intervention, risk assessment screening, safety planning, follow-up support, and advocacy based on client's assessed needs. Candidates must be eligible to obtain/maintain a QMHA-R level certification. (Certifications - MHACBO) 
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in social work or behavioral health sciences field, or combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
- Demonstrated ability to use appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills while working with individuals who may be very escalated or experiencing acute crisis.
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.
- Demonstrated ability to practice self-reflection
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
- Work some holidays and weekends.
- Remote work may be required, but this is not a fully remote position.
- Due to the nature of the position, there are no scheduled lunch breaks. As a 24/7 program, the role requires flexibility in managing breaks and meals during shifts. Employees are expected to remain on-call for client support throughout their shift.

Position Duties:

About the Mobile Response & Stabilization Services Program:
- Catholic Charities' Mobile Response program, based in Jersey City, New Jersey, provides families with counseling, guidance, and referral services to address juvenile crises and to help in stabilizing and preserving the family unit. The program addresses juvenile behavioral problems, such as truancy, chronic runaways, family disputes, and curfew violations. Mobile Response services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to help children and youth who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. The services are designed to defuse an immediate crisis, keep children and their families safe, and maintain the children in their own homes or current living situation (such as a foster home, treatment home or group home). Mobile response/crisis intervention workers respond to calls received by the program through a centralized screening entity that determines the need for services. Workers must respond to calls within one hour by traveling to wherever the crisis occurs, such as in the child's/family's home, in school, or other community locations. The Mobile Response program utilizes agency-owned cars that workers use to drive to the site of the crisis.

2. Initiates the crisis intervention intake process with each youth who seeks admission to the Crisis program. Conducts risk assessment through completion of the intake process and assures youth meet admission criteria to complete admission to program.
3. Answers incoming phone calls to the Crisis Program. Communicates the purpose and benefits of the Crisis Program and other Huck House programs as applicable with callers. Provides resource information on other community programs as deemed necessary.
4. Provides crisis intervention and facilitates crisis groups to clients in the Crisis Program. Engages youth in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention when escalating behaviors in youth and/or families occur.
5. Accurately completes all required documentation and reporting within established timeframes.
6. Performs general housekeeping, cooking and other routine maintenance duties in the Crisis center as needed.
7. Attends and participates in bi-weekly team meetings and small group discussions.
8. Proactive and attentive to needs of youth, teammates, and program.

- Obtains and/or reviews initial intake/referral/payer information and documents in Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Conducts follow-up calls to consumers of Crisis Intervention services as requested by Clinical Supervisor and in accordance with practice standards.
- Supports, educates, and assists with training/mentoring other on-call staff responsible for working in the crisis program.
- Maintains proper documentation of all consumer related contacts and ensures documentation is concise, timely, and congruent with practice standards for crisis service delivery.
Hours of Work 
Schedule and hours are varied as part of an on-call rotation. 
Compensation Rates
 $15-$5/hour 
This position has variable pay rates based on weekday/weekend per diem and services provided:
Weekday on-call per diem: $ 0 First on Call / 50 Secondary/ 40 Tertiary/ 20 Quaternary
Weekend on-call day per diem: $ 20 First on Call/ 100 Secondary/ 80 Tertiary/ 20 Quaternary
Holiday on-call day per diem : $ 50 First on Call/ 120 Secondary/ 100 Tertiary/ 50 Quaternary
Telephone service delivery- 15/hour
Mobile service delivery- 25/hour plus round-trip mileage per mile.

Position Summary: Founded in 1866, Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) empowers children and families to reach their full potential, strengthen families, and foster self-sufficiency in adults. With programs in 40 locations, BCS serves more than 20,000 individuals a year.
1921 Cortelyou is a 46 unit supportive housing program located in Flatbush Brooklyn. The Program specifically services young adults 18-25 years old with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness and have a chronic history of being unhoused. Most of the young adults living at 1921 Cortelyou are members of the LGBTQ+ community. The Program offers a safe and affirming living environment and supportive services to help our young adults to move towards long term stability. This Program is under the NY/NY 15 population C agreement and funding is being provided through the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Position Summary:
The crisis intervention specialist will respond to situations where stress, depression, or any other mental health issue may create a personal crisis including but not limited to the following: suicidal thoughts, emotional trauma, serious mental illness, anxiety, housing crisis .models the best practices of hospitality and positive culture and work enthusiastically as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine behavioral risk assessments and safety plans 
- De-escalate high risk behaviors that may be creating an unsafe environment for a client or others around them.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING
- Establish cooperative relationships and collaborate with first responders and community partners (e.g., mental health providers, hospitals, public safety, criminal justice system) to develop and implement critical response plans and resources that enhance prevention, preparedness, and continuity of vital operations and services.
- Monitor compliance with established standards.
- Support the Safety team by responding to critical incidents (e.g., crises, emergencies, natural disasters) by providing direct intervention, triage, and stabilization services in-person and/or by phone.
- Participate actively in an after-hours on-call rotation to address crisis situations and safety needs.
- Serve as in-house de-escalation expert.
- Support staff as a first responder by providing guidance, consultation, and assistance directly after a traumatic event or crisis.
- Maintain the respect and dignity of each affected individual, being attentive to special population concerns and conducting wellness checks as needed.
- Demonstrate effective skills in case investigation, evaluation, and integration of facts, and recommendations that lead to informed decision-making.
- Perform After Action Reviews post-incident as part of Plymouth’s response protocol.
- Manage the critical incident debrief process, including data collection, tracking, and reporting.
- Provide updates to leadership and recommendations for improvements.
- Manage and monitor the Violent Incident Report (VIR) system, adjusting the rating system as needed and ensuring staff orientation to the system. Provide outreach to staff who experience a VIR 2, VIR 3, or take traumatic event leave.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information.
- Coordinate with Facilities and IT departments for Security programs and procedures.
- Supervise and maintain training of the Plymouth Safety Ambassador program.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
- Participate as a contributing member of the Crisis Management Team and Safety Committee.

Our Crisis program is searching for a part-time variable Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in environments where no two days are the same and have a passion for helping our community members through times of distress.
Crisis Intervention Specialists are available 24/7 on a rotation basis to assist our consumers in times of need. You’ll work to determine the immediate safety steps to be taken and provide appropriate interventions and resources that address the current mental health needs. These services are provided over the phone to callers through our hotline and mobile when needed often to further assess needs in a clinical environment like a hospital setting.

What Do I Need?
 Education and Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field.
OR 
  Registered Nurse
OR
  High School diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other social science and 2 years of experience in public or private Human Services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
OR
  Consumer or family member who has 1 year of experience as an advocate or leader in a consumer or family group with a High School diploma or equivalency. 
Other Requirements
- You will maintain required state and federal clearances.
- You will maintain a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel to consumer locations as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities
- During non-operating hours of the clinic, participates in on-call rotation to include evenings, holidays, and weekends in accordance with program expectations.
- Telephonic and/or Mobile Crisis Intervention responses are required during these time periods.
- Obtains and/or reviews initial intake/referral/payer information and documents in Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Conducts follow-up calls to consumers of Crisis Intervention services as requested by Clinical Supervisor and in accordance with practice standards.
- Supports, educates, and assists with training/mentoring other on-call staff responsible for working in the crisis program.
- Maintains proper documentation of all consumer related contacts and ensures documentation is concise, timely, and congruent with practice standards for crisis service delivery.
Hours of Work 
Schedule and hours are varied as part of an on-call rotation. 
What Do I Get? 
 $15-$5/hour 
This position has variable pay rates based on weekday/weekend per diem and services provided:
Weekday on-call per diem: $ 0 First on Call / 50 Secondary/ 40 Tertiary/ 20 Quaternary
Weekend on-call day per diem: $ 20 First on Call/ 100 Secondary/ 80 Tertiary/ 20 Quaternary
Holiday on-call day per diem : $ 50 First on Call/ 120 Secondary/ 100 Tertiary/ 50 Quaternary
Telephone service delivery- 15/hour
Mobile service delivery- 25/hour plus round-trip mileage per mile.

Center for Community Resources Clearfield/Jefferson  Crisis Intervention Services is looking for a compassionate mental health professional. Crisis Intervention services include telephone, walk in and mobile assessment, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referral and linking to community resources. Daily Functions:
• Provide direct supervision of crisis specialists and ensure program meets licensure requirements.
• Perform all duties of a crisis intervention specialist.
• Performs daily chart reviews to ensure that clinical interventions are appropriate. Clinical deficiencies are discussed with crisis worker and documents accordingly in a supervision.
• Ensures clinical documentation by staff meets standards via chart reviews.
• Provide supervisor duties such as new staff training, scheduling, performance evaluations and employee oversight performance issues and documents activities accordingly.
• Collaborates and consults with managers in completing the crisis staff schedule.
• Assists with the training of new hires and assesses ability of each worker in collaboration with managers and documents accordingly.
• Ensures adequate coverage in crisis at all times and demonstrates flexible schedule to ensure adequate program coverage.
• Ensures all assigned performance evaluations to are completed, reviewed and submitted to HR at least 1 week prior to due date.
• Consults with managers and HR on any performance or policy violations by staff and documents all supervisions with employees to resolve the issue.
• Facilitate service coordination with community services involved along with interagency resources.
The hours for this position are 4pm – 12 am with rotating weekend on shift and on call hours supported in the Clearfield/Jefferson  counties. We also offer a possible higher salary based on experience. The starting salary range for this position is $25.00/hr. Afternoon shift differential is $.75/hr. and the midnight shift differential is  1.50/hr. Crisis Intervention Supervisors are required to work rotating weekends on-call with responding, in person, to the community. We pay a stipend of up to  350 when covering on-call hours.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year experience in mental health field required.
Required Five years of Mental Health experience, or related field with two of the years being supervisory. Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.
