What you will do:
In this role, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for Teradata’s Database Pillar, shaping the future of our compute, data and core database engine capabilities. You will own the product roadmap for Teradata’s database technologies, ensuring continued leadership in price-performance, workload management, hybrid cloud deployment, elasticity, and advanced optimization techniques.
Your impact will be to deliver a best-in-class enterprise database that powers mission-critical analytics, AI/ML workloads, and real-time decisioning at a global scale. Success in this role means strengthening Teradata’s competitive position in the database market, driving adoption in cloud and hybrid environments, and ensuring that our database remains the trusted foundation for enterprise customers managing the most complex data challenges.
Who you will work with:
On our team, we lead product management for the Engine and Platforms portfolio — the heart of Teradata’s technology stack. You will partner with engineering leadership to define priorities for query optimization, workload orchestration, parallel processing, storage engines, and multi-cloud scaling.
You will also collaborate with solution architects, sales engineering, and customer success to ensure that database product capabilities directly address enterprise requirements. Externally, you will engage with enterprise customers, ecosystem partners, and industry influencers to guide product-market fit and represent Teradata as a thought leader in the next generation of database innovation.
This position reports to the VP, Product Management, Engine and Platforms and serves as a key member of the Product Management leadership team.
What makes you a qualified candidate:
10+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, with significant focus on databases, query engines, or data platforms.
Proven ability to drive strategy and execution in database & data systems, distributed workload processing, and cloud-native architectures.
Hands-on knowledge of workload optimization, indexing, partitioning, parallel processing, workload management, and security.
Experience with cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and multi-cloud deployment in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Demonstrated success managing global product teams and delivering complex enterprise software.
Track record of engaging directly with customers on performance, scalability, and workload tuning.
Strong financial, strategic, and operational acumen with experience managing roadmaps, budgets, and investments.
Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and represent the company externally.
What you will bring:
Deep technical expertise in query optimization, execution engines, distributed databases, and elastic scaling models.
Familiarity with vectorized query processing, GPU/accelerated workloads, and AI/ML integrations with database platforms.
Understanding of competitive database technologies (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and how Teradata differentiates.
Experience building data-intensive products that support both OLTP and OLAP workloads.
Passion for database innovation and a commitment to delivering measurable value to enterprise customers.
