We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning power generation and power distribution control systems across the country. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.
 
· Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
· Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control systems.
· Wire industrial control panels, switchboards, and MCCs.
· Perform field commissioning and startup activities.
· Connect to PLCs and HMIs for downloading, uploading, and remote troubleshooting.
· Perform basic mechanical repairs in the field (e.g., fixing hinges, repairing screw threads for door covers, touch-up paint, small hardware adjustments).
· Document all site activities: weekly timesheets, signed Field Service Reports, and project update emails.
· Update client electrical drawings in AutoCAD (one-lines, schematics, diagrams).
· Communicate clearly with project managers, clients, and team members.
· Adhere to all company, industry, and client safety standards.
·        Stay current with safety and technical training requirements.
 
· Proficient in English (Spanish is a plus).
· Familiar with PLC and HMI software tools (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent) for program connection and troubleshooting.

Summary:
The successful candidate will design and support the production of diesel generator sets up to 500kW. The position requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of hands-on experience. Excellent problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to function independently will be key to your success.
Essential Functions:
· Configure genset controllers for specific genset models. Basic PLC programming may be required.
· Identify suppliers and select major system components such as engines, alternators, main circuit breakers, voltage selector switches, etc.
· Work directly with domestic and overseas suppliers to develop custom solutions
· Document designs via 3D CAD (experience with Solid Works preferred) and formal Engineering Change process.
· Assist engine manufacturer teams with engine application testing.
· Troubleshoot production test issues.

· Perform maintenance and repair on power-generation equipment, including generators, turbines, and engines.
