Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or 2+ years of vocational training in Electromechanical Systems
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the OEM industry involved in designing, editing, installing and troubleshooting PLC and motion control software and hardware
• Must be able to travel domestically and sometimes internationally away from home for extended periods of time (75-80%)
• Ability to support various software control platforms for packaging machine to customer plant integration
• Knowledge of ladder logic, produced and consumed tags, messaging, as well as other machine integration tools

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, testing, analyzing, maintaining, repairing and training of packaging equipment, including aseptic thermoform machines, and associated portfolio products at customer sites, with main emphasis on supporting the controls platforms
• Understanding of wiring, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulics is required
• Primary focus is to provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete customer satisfaction
• This position has a direct and significant impact on maintaining, as well as, growing the customer base for Osgood Industries
• Perform field service repairs, installations, field audits, for new equipment installations and / or existing machine installed base
• When assigned, train customers, managers, technical personnel, and operators on proper operation, maintenance, and safety rules of filling/packaging equipment, specifically on applicable machinery control software
• Occasionally, when assigned, provide accountability as a site manager/lead, directing the workload and tasks of other field technicians, assembly and engineering personnel, and coordinating with customer and other contract / OEM site personnel

• Provide support to customers, internal Customer Service, Assembly, and Sales departments, as required
• Provide updates and modifications, as needed, to machine controls software programs or firmware at customer sites

• Report customer and individual concerns/complaints to Quality Manager, as needed
• Support and assist with design and order reviews, assembly, testing and final acceptance tests (SAT and FAT) to become proficient with the control packages interface and integration
• Assist the Parts and Modernization departments with quoting requests for electronic controls software and hardware upgrades and / or electrical component upgrades

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC II – this level of Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing duties described for a Maintenance Mechanic I in the Hydro Department.  The qualifications and experience of this level of Mechanic must be at an intermediate to advanced level.  Duties are carried out under limited to close supervision.  As additional work experience is gained, the employee may be assigned to tasks that are more difficult in nature and require more responsibility. Employees in this position may be responsible for providing on-the-job training (OJT) to new employees.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment and machinery. Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and machinery
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to quickly resolve the problem to ensure the timely placement back into production
• Work from prints, schematics, diagrams, or general instructions to diagnose and repair equipment both electrical and mechanical
• Coordinate installation of new equipment and repair activity with other members of the team, as well as outside subcontractors, as required
• Create and close out work orders with data including, labor hours, industrial equipment maintenance and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS Limble)
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations including wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and using tools and equipment according to proper safety requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related experience required
• 5+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems preferred, including basic troubleshooting and interface with control systems
• The ability to read electronic schematics test and troubleshoot problems on machines or in control panels, interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings
• A demonstrated level of understanding that involves hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical dynamics is required
• Experience in metal fabrication with MIG and TIG welding process experience preferred
• The ability to read and write English and follow verbal instructions, including drawings and OEM repair manuals and on-line resources is required
• The ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, be detailed oriented, and focused
• Must have problem solving skills, be analytical minded, and be a critical thinker
• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English
