Key responsibilities (include but not limited to):

To be successful, candidates must:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications

  • Occasionally, when assigned, provide accountability as a site manager/lead, directing the workload and tasks of other field technicians, assembly and engineering personnel, and coordinating with customer and other contract / OEM site personnel

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

The Industrial Mobile Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining industrial mobile equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examines parts for defects, such as breakage and/or excessive wear

  • Logs/records repairs and maintenance performed

  • Rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculations

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance is required to be able to perform the essential functions

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I – this level of Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing mechanical maintenance work to machinery in all neighboring Saginaw locations.  Individuals in this position operate, work with and are around large industrial equipment.  Training is provided and duties are routinely carried out under close supervision; however, close supervision is not always available for routine and repetitive tasks, and these tasks can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned.  As work experience is gained, employee may be assigned to more advanced tasks that include more responsibility.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC II – this level of Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing duties described for a Maintenance Mechanic I in the Hydro Department.  The qualifications and experience of this level of Mechanic must be at an intermediate to advanced level.  Duties are carried out under limited to close supervision.  As additional work experience is gained, the employee may be assigned to tasks that are more difficult in nature and require more responsibility. Employees in this position may be responsible for providing on-the-job training (OJT) to new employees.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment and machinery.   • Compensation: The salary range is $28 to $30 per hour + Generous Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and machinery
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to quickly resolve the problem to ensure the timely placement back into production
  • Work from prints, schematics, diagrams, or general instructions to diagnose and repair equipment both electrical and mechanical
  • Coordinate installation of new equipment and repair activity with other members of the team, as well as outside subcontractors, as required
  • Create and close out work orders with data including, labor hours, industrial equipment maintenance and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS Limble)
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations including wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and using tools and equipment according to proper safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, leaders, fellow team members, and other employees
  • Perform preventive maintenance on light and heavy industrial equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related experience required
  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems preferred, including basic troubleshooting and interface with control systems
  • The ability to read electronic schematics test and troubleshoot problems on machines or in control panels, interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings
  • A demonstrated level of understanding that involves hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical dynamics is required
  • Experience in metal fabrication with MIG and TIG welding process experience preferred
  • The ability to read and write English and follow verbal instructions, including drawings and OEM repair manuals and on-line resources is required
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, be detailed oriented, and focused
  • Must have problem solving skills, be analytical minded, and be a critical thinker

  • Maintain record of all service work and repairs performed within the electronic service record.
  • Work with Operations Manager to maximize labor revenue and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean driving record, and drive safely from customer to customer.
  • Communicate with the parts and sales departments to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Perform work in a variety of environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations.

To be successful, candidates must:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass our pre-employment process, including drug screen and background check
  • Have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Demonstrate a high mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Be able to lift/move 75 lbs. or more
  • Have basic electrical knowledge
  • Work well in teams
  • Have the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Be self-motivated with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Have Dock and Door Experience (preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrate Superior Customer Service Skills
  • Have Welding and Electrical experience (preferred but not required)
