We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. Medical Receptionists are key players responsible for creating a good first and last impression of our organization for all clients and potential clients.
Job Description
Provide front office support for four healthcare providers. Duties will include:
- Schedule appointments using practice software
- Answer a multiline phone system in a prompt and professional manner. Take messages and direct calls as appropriate
- Greet persons entering the establishment
- Send/ receive information including medical records using a email, mail, or facsimile machine
- Maintain patient privacy by securing PHI and maintaining HIPAA
- Accurately complete patient registration
- Collect and record payments for services to ensure all books are balanced at the end of each business day
- Verify insurance benefits
- File, maintain and manage hard-copy filing system accurately and neatly
- Perform administrative support tasks such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, and other duties as assigned
- Assure the readiness of the main lobby and main bathroom each day by ensuring that it is neat, clean, and stocked at all times
- Open office at the designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of each business day
- Manage incoming and outgoing packages, mail, and deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned
