MindMed is searching for a dynamic, experienced, and strategic Senior Director, Medical Affairs Field Leader, to join our growing Medical Affairs team. As Medical Affairs Field Leader, you will be responsible for leading strategic planning and management of a team of MSLs.

This person will hire, manage, and develop a team of MSLs to implement field initiatives aligned with MindMed Medical Affairs objectives. The MA, Field Leader is a member of the MindMed Medical Affairs Leadership Team and will work closely with Medical Affairs, clinical, HEOR, and commercial leads to ensure field activity and direction are aligned with overall MindMed strategy and goals. The MA Field Leader will ensure the development of training materials, external and internal field material best practices and SOPs that are compliant with FDA guidance, Pharma code, and MindMed policies.

Responsibilities:

Field Team Leadership & Training

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to a team of regional MSLs
  • Work closely with the Medical Affair Leadership to recruit and build a new MA Field Team of high performance MSLs
  • Develop training modules for field team
  • Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges and interactions with identified Thought Leaders as needed

Strategic Field Direction

  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective MSLs goals and field plans to ensure alignment with strategic medical plans
  • Strategic partner to Medical Affairs Leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Create education and presentation materials in support of internal and external customer needs ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal guidelines

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Identify and support MSLs cross functional engagements and build key strategic relationships internally and with external stakeholders including HEOR, clinical, preclinical, operations, commerical, marketing
  • Develop effective strategies to communicate key clinical/ research and medical insights from industry leaders to appropriate internal partners to shape company research, development, and commercial strategies
  • Support MindMed R&D Strategy, Clinical and Operation teams as needed
  • Work with Clinical Development teams to identify areas of need for Phase 4 studies

Scientific Engagement and Insights Generation

  • Identify and engage internal and external stakeholders to gain insights, and provide education on MindMed products and disease state
  • Attend and manage the organization, planning, and facilitation of field engagements at scientific and medical conferences

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to reach pre-determined metrics
  • Lead strategic enhancements of CRM systems with IT to support collection, organization, and communication of Field Medical/ MSLs/CTLs engagements
  • Management of Field Medical Affairs budget
  • Comfortable working with mulitple outside vendors

Requirements:

  • 10 plus years of industry experience with demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills in the areas of medical affairs and R&D
  • A minimum of at least 3 years of experience managing and leading field-based clinical/medical science liaisons in Psychiatry is required. Experience in both pre launch and post-launch is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead successful cross-functional teams in changing and competitive environments
  • Demonstrated experience in building, expanding, and developing high performing Field medical/ MSL teams
  • Experience working with dashboards to generate reports and provide updates on Field Medical activities and KOL insights. Designing dashboards a plus
  • You must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

The starting base pay range for this position is $258,836.00 - $291,030.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare provider operations and decision-making processes. 

  • Proven success in lead generation, appointment setting, and building top-of-funnel pipeline.

  • Initiate and establish relationships with customer contacts through phone calls and in person meetings, to present customized solutions which solve current financial, operational, and workforce planning challenges and align EnvisionAge’s healthcare staffing services with desired future state.
  • Negotiate complex sales cycles with the customer, interfacing all the key buying parties.
  • Structure detailed strategic plans for building new business relationships with key stakeholders and Government POC and Agency Small Business offices. 
  • Develop and deliver presentations aligned with EnvisionAge’s style and branding guidelines to communicate valued solutions to the Agency Small Business Offices, and Federal Government customer contacts to create new revenue streams and/or increase market share, often as part of Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
  • Attend RFP conferences and assist with all phases of business capture. 
  • Customize business proposals and presentations based on customer situations.
  • Continually expand individual knowledge of healthcare staffing services market trends, industry analyst updates, and competitive data by reviewing internal and external sources.
  • Participate in key industry associations and trade organizations.
  • Develop and manage the pipeline of diversified accounts by converting opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Communicate sales activities and opportunities through the pipeline call process to keep all stakeholders informed of upcoming RFPs and the like staffing services. 
  • Stay up to date with federal contracting regulations, policies, and industry trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education/Certifications:

·         Master’s Degree

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a Business Development Director or Manager or a combination of both in Federal Government Contracting.
  • Prior Experience in Business Development within the Healthcare Staffing Industry, preferred working for leading organizations. 
  • Specialized experience in Capture Management in the U.S. Federal Government contracting arena highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, compliance, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

·         Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

JOB TASKS: 

  • Build new Strategic Relationships with the United States Federal Government Agencies procuring healthcare staffing solutions and services. 
  • Achieve quarterly and annually established revenue targets through accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting.
  • The priority for this role is to add U.S. Federal Government agency accounts and provide input to the delivery model that works best for specific agency clients.
  • Entry into new customer agencies, specific RFP targets, and the execution of key partners and relationships.
  • Responsible for growing market share for EnvisionAge within Federal agencies.
  • Lead capture efforts, including market research, customer engagement, and proposal strategy.
  • Qualify new sales opportunities through systematic investigation of customers’ situation and objectives, evaluation of revenue potential, and alignment with our healthcare staffing and service offerings.
