POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth grade classrooms in the school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal.

OUR CURRENT MODEL

There are four “home room” teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a core subject. (For example, there are four teachers on the 6th grade team; each staff member teaches every student on that grade level for their assigned subject.) Class size is typically about 26 students per class.

Subjects on each grade level include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Please note within the application what grade levels and/or subject area you prefer. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application.

Please note that fifth grade is considered part of our middle school model.
