Job Summary: MRI technician to be responsible for providing clear images to Physicians through MRI scanning. The MRI technician's responsibilities include following Physicians' instructions, explaining the MRI procedure to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters on the MRI machine, viewing images from the imaging session, and keeping records of reports. To be a successful MRI technician, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be sensitive to the needs of the patients. You should show attention to detail and be able to work in a team.
MRI Technician Responsibilities:
- Explain the breast MRI procedure to patients.
- Ensure all safety questions are asked and consent forms signed before scanning.
- Position the patient properly to capture clear images of the breasts.
- Start IVs for the MRI process.
- Draw blood for genetic testing.
- Maneuver the MRI equipment and positioning it to capture the correct images.
- Monitor patients during scanning and maintaining patients' records.
- Monitor MRI equipment functions.
- Ensure clear images for Physicians to provide accurate diagnoses.
- Recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images.
- Assist radiologist with MRI biopsies, MRI localizations and DynaCad system.
- Centricity EMR – entering reports and chart documentation.
- Quality Assurance- daily and weekly
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- RT/ MRI certified/ IV certified.
- Current State License and ARRT registry
- Experience with Breast MRI would be a plus.
- Mammography experience would be a plus.

Position Summary
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations in accordance with established imaging protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide efficient, safe, and compassionate care to every patient. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform MRI examinations following established protocols and physician orders.

Administer contrast agents as appropriate, ensuring patient safety and renal function verification.
Review and confirm image quality before completion of exams.
Document procedures accurately in PACS, EMR, and related systems.

Support quality assurance, troubleshooting, and reporting of equipment issues.
Provide prompt service for image requests (films, CDs, digital transfers).
Education & Training
Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program (required).
Experience
At least 6 months of related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI training program.
Licensure/Certification
Current ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification (required or must obtain within 1 year of hire).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

- Applicants not credentialed in MRI will have 12 months to obtain MRI certification. This certification period will begin at the completion of the MRI department orientation. Failure to obtain MRI certification in that timeframe may results in termination or position reclassification.
- Active license issued by the State of Tennessee may be required.
