About PSFC:Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative (PSFC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports research on and clinical trials of physician-prescribed psychedelic medicines and patient access to these treatments. Emerging research indicates that psychedelics have the potential to be a breakthrough in treating PTSD, depression, addiction, and other conditions. PSFC was born in 2017 out of a realization that psychedelic medicine has the potential to make an enormous impact and has an achievable path to regulatory approval, but has been systemically underfunded. Since PSFC’s founding, we have grown into a community of many of the leading funders of psychedelic medicine supporting organizations at the cutting edge of psychedelic research with funding and expert support.
We operate as a flexible network to:
- Identify and evaluate high-impact funding opportunities in psychedelic medicine
- Provide advisory support to scientists and organizations in the psychedelic field, including expertise in pharmaceutical development, organizational growth, and public communications
- Serve as a resource for philanthropists who have specific interests in psychedelics and are interested in advice and collaboration to amplify collective impact
- Foster community among philanthropists, scientists, and the tireless professionals dedicated to the clinical approval of psychedelic medicine
PSFC has set an audacious goal of raising the philanthropic funding needed to make psychedelic therapy available as a medicine.
As the Director of Scientific Research and Partnerships, you will be responsible for building new partnerships with private and public institutions to establish Psychedelic Centers of Excellence for therapist training and clinical practice of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies. You will foster personal connections with department chairs and heads of development at major Universities and healthcare institutions across the United States, as well as with donors who support those institutions. You understand how institutions work and are adept at navigating institutional politics and power structures. Additionally, you bring clinical expertise to the PSFC organization with practical experiences in clinical operations to strengthen our due diligence on clinical trial grant proposals.
As the ideal candidate for the role, you are a strategic thinker, a self-starter, and enjoy building and nurturing relationships. Passionate about psychedelic science, you have stellar communication skills and stay up to speed on trends and opportunities in the psychedelic field. And as a member of a small, dynamic organization, you are grounded, direct, clear, kind, and a team player.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Devise a partnership strategy to work with medical and academic institutions (e.g. Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, top universities, etc.) to build out psychedelic centers of excellence for clinical practice and training
- Identify and source high-potential institutional prospects through research, strategic outreach, and relationship-building to cultivate new partnerships with academic researchers and institutions
- Build trusted relationships and champion collaboration with stakeholders in psychedelic medicine
- As a grantmaker, evaluate incoming grant proposals and provide due diligence on organizations conducting clinical trials
- Evaluate Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) on alignment with internal strategic priorities for clinical practice and training
- Introduce IITs to sponsors who may be able to provide scientific input and or drug product
- Connect IITs to sponsors who may be able to provide scientific input and/or drug product
- Build a framework and engagement playbook for clinical partnerships
- Manage tools to maintain a real-time snapshot of relationships and forecast future opportunities
- Coordinate with other members of the PSFC team and handle a portion of our shared administrative tasks
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, or management consulting
- 5+ years of experience working in the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, biology, bioinformatics, biological engineering or similar)
- Experience with scientific research in a hospital/academic center or innovation office is a plus
- Experienced working on clinical trials and drug development through to FDA approval
- Can balance high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Are a self-starter and you proactively drive projects toward successful completion
- Able to lead, motivate and understand the needs of others
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel. Must be willing to travel in the US for partnership meetings and conferences.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Center for Home-Based Child Care Research at Erikson Institute in Chicago is seeking a post-doctoral Research Fellow whose research focuses on early care and education policy. The Fellow will be responsible for performing research and project coordination duties on a variety of policy-relevant research studies related to supporting the supply and quality of home-based child care. The fellow will work closely with the Home-Based Child Care Research Team’s PIs and research staff.
This is a 12-month, full-time (negotiable) fellowship; extension may be possible based on the availability of future grant funding. The earliest start date is October 1, 2025, and application review will begin in July, 2025 and will continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The fellowship can be fully remote or hybrid in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to competitive salary and full benefits, the Fellow will be given time to conduct independent research of their own. Opportunities for teaching may be available if of interest.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support protocol development, participant recruitment, and quantitative/qualitative data collection (primarily by phone and/or Zoom).
- Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis in collaboration with other team members, including both PIs and research assistants.
- Assist with the development and dissemination of literature reviews, policy scans, reports, journal articles, presentations, and other products.
- Attend weekly team meetings and regularly communicating with team members, research partners, and community members (including policymakers, administrators, home-based child care educators, families).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-doctoral fellow: A doctoral degree (or ABD) in early childhood education, human development, psychology, public policy, public health, social work, or a related field.
- Knowledge of early care and education policies, systems, workforce, and/or landscape; familiarity with home-based child care (licensed family child care and/or family, friend, and neighbor care) strongly preferred.
- Experience interacting with economically, culturally, and linguistically diverse communities.
- Extensive experience collecting, managing, and analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data using relevant software (e.g., Stata, SPSS, R, Nvivo, Dedoose).
- Excellent verbal communication and academic writing skills; experiencing translating research for a general audience preferred.
- Willingness and flexibility for weekend or evening data collection activities as needed, with flex time granted.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and management skills.
- Ability to work independently and with groups.

Background:
Catholics for Choice (CFC) which serves the pro-choice Catholic majority was founded in 1973 to encounter, educate, and embolden people of faith who support reproductive freedom.
General Summary:
We are excited to announce the first-ever CFC Research Fellowship program, which will provide research funding, connection to movement leaders, and community for scholars conducting research on Catholicism and reproductive health, rights, and justice. The program's goal is to encourage research and public scholarship on this understudied topic.
This years CFC Research Fellowship cohort will run from September 15, 2025, through July 31, 2026. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
As a CFC Research Fellow, you will receive the following:
- $,000 in grant funding to support an ongoing or proposed research project at the intersection of Catholicism and reproductive rights, health, and justice.
- Public scholarship training and 1:1 mentorship on talking to the media, digital safety and security, writing op-eds, and more.
- Monthly online meetings to build community and gain skills.
- Funded travel and lodging for an in-person meeting in Washington, D.C.
During the year-long fellowship, CFC Research Fellows will complete the following:
- Contribute at least one article to CFCs flagship publication, Conscience: The Magazine of Religious and Reproductive Freedom.
- Write at least one article for CFCs Substack, The Overreach Monitor.
- Complete a short staff presentation discussing your research.
- Participate in a public webinar or panel hosted by CFC to discuss a topic within your area of study.
- Review CFC resources, website content, and social media for accuracy as needed when related to your area of research.
Qualifications:
- To create a professionally diverse cohort and decentralize academic hierarchies, this program is open to emerging undergraduate researchers, graduate students (including masters and PhD students), junior scholars, senior scholars, independent scholars, and researchers at nonprofits unaffiliated with academia in an official capacity.
- Proposed research must center Catholicism AND reproductive rights, health, or justice. Applications solely related to Catholicism without a strong argument for their relevance to reproductive justice will not be accepted. - The program is open to people engaging in research in various disciplines, including but not limited to history, theology, sociology, anthropology, religious studies, public health, and political science.

Compensation:
- This fellowship offers 3,000 in grant funding.

Research Assistant II (Scientific) job responsibilities include:
Support protein expression, purification, and characterization using techniques such as FPLC, SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting.
Conduct biophysical and functional assays (e.g., ELISA, enzyme kinetics) to validate protein constructs and study biological activity.
Prepare and process biological samples, including tissue homogenization and protein extraction from in vivo studies.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, integrating results from multiple assays and platforms.
Maintain accurate and detailed records in electronic lab notebooks (e.g., Benchling) and present findings in team meetings.
Assist in method development, troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with lab safety and research protocols.
Required Qualifications:
