About the Opportunity

Contentful is looking for an Associate to join the Business Operations and Strategy (BOS) team to help scale our business. One of the primary responsibilities of this role is developing and executing Pricing & Packaging strategy (in support of our broader corporate strategy). You will work closely with teams across the organization to understand business performance, set strategy, and drive business growth.

This is a hybrid role where office attendance in Denver is expected 2-3 days per week.
What to expect
  • Strategy Development:
    • Support developing and executing the company's overall pricing and packaging strategy for all products and services.
    • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including competitor pricing, market trends, and industry benchmarks (including identifying broader shifts in pricing models / new approaches to monetization).
    • Collaborate with product, sales, marketing, and finance teams to align pricing with product roadmaps, GTM strategies, and financial goals.
  • Analysis and Modeling:
    • Perform detailed quantitative analysis to model the impact of pricing changes, including price elasticity, customer lifetime value (LTV), and total addressable market (TAM).
    • Build and maintain pricing models and tools to support decision-making and forecasting.
    • Analyze pricing performance and key metrics (e.g., win rates, churn, expansion revenue) and make data-backed recommendations for adjustments.
  • Customer & Market Research:
    • Lead qualitative and quantitative research initiatives (e.g., conjoint analysis, value surveys, customer interviews) to understand customer willingness to pay and perceived value.
    • Translate customer insights into actionable pricing and packaging recommendations.
  • Packaging & GTM Execution:
    • Define and refine product packages, tiers, and add-ons to meet the needs of different customer segments.
    • Develop and manage the launch plan for new pricing models, working closely with sales enablement to ensure the sales team is equipped to communicate value effectively.
    • Create internal and external pricing documentation, including sales playbooks, value propositions, and public-facing pricing pages.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on all pricing matters.
    • Partner with the sales team to address customer pricing inquiries and support large deal negotiations.
    • Work with the marketing team to develop messaging that highlights the value of our pricing and packaging.
Flexibility: Be willing and able to support beyond Pricing & Packaging to support broader corporate strategy efforts (including, but not limited to, supporting M&A strategy and execution and Product / GTM strategy)
What you need to be successful
  • Experience:
    • 4+ years of experience in a pricing role, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment OR general management experience in areas such as management consulting, investment banking/private equity or BizOps
    • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics (ARR, LTV, CAC, etc.), and go-to-market strategies.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a strong command of financial modeling.
    • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel / Google Sheets, BI platforms like Tableau).
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Strategic and critical thinker with a proactive, results-oriented approach.

Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Colorado Salary Range: $112,000 - $152,000

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Understand corporate pricing strategies in order to identify opportunities for improvement and maximize financial impacts
  • Plan and organize a portfolio of key client pricing analyses across multiple stakeholders, including defining scope and timeline
  • Create tailored, client-specific pricing analyses using relevant data and tools
  • Present analyses and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to the various personnel levels of the organization and clients
  • Develop reports and dashboards to track and report progress
  • Analyze complex business problems and data sets to draw conclusions and recommendations
  • Challenge business norms through analysis and creative, critical thinking

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Business and/or Finance-related degree.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in an analyst, consultant, or management role
  • MBA and/or external consulting experience preferred
  • Strong quantitative skills required
  • Experience with data mining and analysis (primarily Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with all levels of an organization
  • Microsoft Office applications. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Travel as needed (less than 25%)

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in Near Term Strategy Development (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.
  • 5+ years of enterprise experience with any of the following: create and orchestrate strategic go-to-market plans; build, develop, and execute sales enablement strategy; drive marketing and partner programs; product marketing; market and competitive analysis and positioning; develop insights from market research; or related.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD 137,600 - 222,600 per year.
