Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Claims Operations, The Supervisor of Hospital Operations’ primary responsibility is to oversee the functions of the Hospital Operations team including, providing oversight, direction, and support to ensure Hospital Operations are following regulatory and company requirements. They are to suggest process improvements to management and is a resource of information to all staff. The Supervisor also performs special projects and helps department Managers, Director and VP as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor, track and direct the day-to-day operations of the Hospital Operations team.
- Foster and maintain relationships with multiple clients.
- Forecast work effort needed to manage inventory/tasks.
· Demonstrates excellent formal presentation and interpersonal communication skills that result in understanding of, and commitment to strategic initiatives.
· Document, track, and trend findings per organizational guidelines for Senior Management
· Assist clients with any operational related questions or concerns they may have.
· Analyzes data to make fact-based decisions and monitors variances to understand facility trends
· Assure team has the information and tools necessary to perform their functions
· Coach and mentor teammates for growth and departmental needs
· Update team members on changes to claims process and Policies and Procedures.
· Attend organization meetings as required
Minimum Job Requirements
· An undergraduate degree in Business or Health Care Administration, or appropriately relevant field, is required. An advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health is strongly preferred.
· 2-3+ years in managed care, with a background in hospital capitation/dual risk agreements.
· Knowledge of healthcare organizations and administration and of standards and laws applicable to the industry.
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements

· Strong organizational, analytical, and oral/ written communication (English) skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment for multiple clients.
· Skilled at executing strategy and problem solving; asks the right questions, follows up and determines the facts, setting priorities based on business opportunity.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinic Operations, the supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the clinic coordinators and department leads at all agency health center sites and assist the Manager of Clinic Operation and Director of Clinic Operations in the management of the Agency’s operations to include Medical Reception, Call Center, Optometry, Dental, Radiology, Ultrasound, Health Information Management and Mammogram Department. Monitors operating procedures and ensures agency policies and procedures are followed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with the Manager of Clinic Operations, the Supervisor of Clinic Operations is responsible for the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator, medical receptionists, Call Center Medical Receptionist, and other department support staff.
- Responsible for overseeing Medical Reception staff shift schedule and completion of Medical Reception Saturday shift rotations.
- Responsible for assisting in ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the clinic, managing appointment scheduling, and optimizing utilization of resources.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Minimum two (2) years of experience in the healthcare field to include supervisory leadership experience preferred.
- Associate degree with three (3) years' experience in the healthcare field to include supervisory leadership experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with the Agency’s Practice Management System and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Current California driver license, current California automobile insurance and access to an automobile.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of warehouse office staff, material handlers, and assemblers.

We offer 8 weeks of on - the - job training. The hours of training will be Monday Friday, 09:00 am - 05:00 pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for emergency department registration staff
- Have a working knowledge of computer applications
- Demonstrate, leadership and analytical thinking capability
- Requires working knowledge of insurance including Commercial Contracts, Managed Care, and Government Programs including Federal, State, and local agencies
- Have knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Organizes workflow to ensure accurate and timely team performance
- Supervises the work schedule, always ensuring adequate and appropriate coverage of all positions
- Selects, and delegates training and orientation of new staff
- Assigns staff responsibilities and evaluates performance
- Counsels' employees on problem areas of registration and performance

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of experience working in a hospital patient registration department or physician office setting
- 1 + years of supervisor / management or team lead experience in healthcare
- Experience verifying patient insurance
- Working knowledge of medical benefits & medical terminology
- Ability to work full time onsite in the emergency department at California Hospital Medical Center, 1401 S Grand Ave Los Angeles, CA 90015
- Ability to work Monday - Friday, 07:00AM - 04:00PM, with rotating on call weekend work
- Ability to train for the first 8 weeks between Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual fluency in English and any other language
- 2+ years of in ER Registration
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
