What You'll Do:

Develop LiDAR system and subsystem requirement and specs

Develop system design concept and provide system/subsystem error budget and tradeoff analysis

Design algorithms on HW and SW level, with working knowledge of common machine learning algorithms.

Systematic data collection with well-defined testing plans and data processing and analysis to drive critical insight and accurate conclusion

In-depth understanding of optical imaging system and good hand-on skillset on the optical system alignment, characterization and validation

Some knowledge about circuitry theory with good hands-on troubleshooting experience on high-speed mixed signal electronics is a big plus

Some knowledge about mechanical systems with stack-up error analysis and servo system understanding is a big plus

Support LiDAR use case understanding and escalation, and work with key customers and internal NPI/manufacturing team to help maturity on volume production

Who You are:

Postdoc or PhD. with equivalent experience in the fields of optics, applied physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science

Fresh graduates are also welcomed

Working knowledge of machine learning techniques, such as CNN, DNN, SVM, RL, etc.

Should be familiar with scientific analysis and generic SW tools such as Python, Rust, etc.

Good experience and mindset of solving complex technical problems in the fields of sophisticated instruments, sensors, optical systems, electronics systems and mechanical system

Should be able to define objectives clearly, conduct system level analysis, experiment and data analysis methodically

Highly self-motivated and capable of leading and driving cross-function teams to integrate and characterize system and module-level prototypes, and highly efficient at system issue debug and root cause partition

Good team player, collaborative with other functional engineers to complete projects in a fast-paced R&D environment

Reliable and independent work style, highly accountable and responsible for the outputs and working well under pressure.

The pay range for this role is $120,000 to $60,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

As a System Design Engineer,  you will be:

Report to the Cover Gas System Manager and is focused on system design, analysis, systems engineering, and supplier oversight. In this role, you will act as a system design engineer for client advanced nuclear reactor projects. The successful candidate will integrate and coordinate with engineers working on interfacing systems. The System Design Engineer will work as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Design of fluid systems from development of requirements through final design and commissioning.
  • Perform technical trade studies and decisions to refine system design.
  • Oversee suppliers during development fabrication, and testing of gas processing, filtration, and monitoring equipment
  • Review component designs in the context of the greater system design to determine how detailed design of components impacts the greater system.
  • Prepare system level engineering documentation including technical specifications and operations narratives.
  • Review system documentation to anticipate and resolve system and plant level integration issues before they are realized.
  • Support design reviews as system designs are established and refined.
  • Develop and review technical design documents, such as System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, Engineering Design Specifications, etc.
  • Generate design packages for system designs including coordinating of calculations, design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Interface with the design team to create and manage drawing packages of system designs, including but not limited to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), 3D models, and system interface drawings.
  • Interface with various design disciplines (such as mechanical, instrumentation and controls, civil, and nuclear) to identify and develop system design and performance criteria.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills.
  • Experience with piping systems and the ability to read and draw P&IDs.
  • Experience working with suppliers in development and fabrication of safety-related equipment
  • Strong understanding of design codes (ASME, BPVC, API).
  • Familiar with safety classifications of systems, structures, and components.
  • Familiar with piping design and analysis.
  • Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1, AS 9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate with minimal direction.
  • Ability to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
  • Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test System Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test systems to ensure the highest quality of our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop testing strategies and provide innovative solutions for our Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated test systems for electronic products using LabView and ATE tools.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define test requirements and specifications.
  • Implement and maintain test procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing test systems for improved performance and reliability.
  • Participate in the validation and verification of test systems, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
  • Document test plans, procedures, and results to maintain a comprehensive record of testing activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in test system design and development using ATE.
  • Proficiency in LabView for automated test development.
  • Experience with TestStand or Test Stand is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LabWindows CVI, C/C++, and GPIB protocols.
  • Knowledge of VME, VXI, RF, and electronic circuit design is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

MQ-25 is the next generation autonomous tanker being developed by Boeing for the US Navy. It will be the first autonomous platform in the Navy carrier environment & the selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of the team delivering that capability to the warfighter. In this role, you will be part of the team developing mechanical systems for the MQ-25 air vehicle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support development of the MQ-25 aircraft hydraulic system

  • Support development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations

  • Assist in preparing technical documents for hydraulic components and systems

  • Work with sub-tier suppliers to define, develop, and test hydraulic system components

  • Support testing of the MQ-25 hydraulic system in both the lab and aircraft environments

  • Work under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
