- Interface professionally with test engineering colleagues in Troy, MI, India, UK, China and Korea
- Assist with local customer visits and demonstrations.
- Learn and become expert in using Nextgen’s automation tool, ATAMConnect
- In addition, the job will require travel to customers and facilities within the US

Position Overview
The Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, and execution of test solutions for high-reliability electronic components, semiconductors, and circuit card assemblies. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise in both automated and bench-level test systems to support product validation for aerospace, military, and space applications. The ideal candidate is experienced in MIL-STD test protocols, test hardware development, and PCB design.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive test solutions, including fixtures, test boards, and hardware integration.
- Develop schematics for PCB layouts, load boards, and probe cards, including simulation, layout, and debugging.
- Create and execute test plans for functional, environmental, and accelerated stress testing (e.g., Burn-in, HAST).
- Develop and debug test programs using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) such as Advantest Verigy, and bench-level instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies).
- Design voltage biasing and current monitoring circuits for use in burn-in and environmental test hardware.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to define test requirements and deliver technical reports.
- Lead day-to-day test lab operations, including workflow ownership, process improvement, and resource planning.
- Ensure strict compliance with ESD controls, traveler documentation, and applicable quality standards (AS9100, ISO9001).
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports with results, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
- Support calibration efforts, preventive maintenance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives in the lab.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electronics or semiconductor component testing.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit analysis and industry-standard test methodologies.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD test procedures and aerospace/defense testing standards.
- Experience working with semiconductors including memory, Flash, ADC/DACs, RF components, and ASICs.
- Proficient with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and environmental chambers.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical reporting and team collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to documentation and quality control.

Preferred Requirements
- Advanced degree or technical certifications in electronics, systems testing, or a related field.

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor test projects that frequently require significant modifications of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results. - Demonstrate software experience in the Windows 10 or newer environment

Test Engineer Details:
- Temp-to-Hire position
- $18.00 to $20.00 /hour
- Full Time work available
- First Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 04:30pm)
- Attend and maintain information collected from Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Meeting.
- Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project.
- Create CAD files, or prints from customer supplied data for use on the floor, or CAM department.
- Create BOM for each project.
- Supports product, tooling, and manufacturing design concepts, requirements, and modifications as required.
Test Engineer Qualifications:
- Eight to ten years related experience and/or training required
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports.

Overview
Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $65,000 - $110,000 /yr DOE
Responsibilities
*Designs and implements functional hydraulic/pneumatic test rigs and systems that support safe, accurate, and efficient test execution often requiring 2D schematics, 3D models, and drawings for fabrication using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
*Utilizes sensors, module based software (e.g. DASYLab), and control theory to develop complete data acquisition and control systems.
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation.
* Works closely with Test Technicians to observe and record test setup, progression, and results. Organizes and documents data for each assigned project in the project‘s test log.
* Interacts with customers during the testing process, periodically assists with troubleshooting and development and schedule modifications.
* Researches and orders equipment based on immediate needs while maintaining facility standards.
* Conducts commissioning and/or testing of systems, especially for large, complex, or unique programs.
* Leads troubleshooting efforts required during commissioning phase of test program.
* Utilizes facility resources including liquid and gaseous nitrogen, propane, compressed air, and cooling water.
* Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
* Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to maintain professional candor at all times and remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities.
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Strong and effective interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect.
* Ability to interface with clients to determine their needs and provide a satisfactory outcome.
* Experience working with Quality Management Systems (i.e. ISO 17025 and ITAR Regulations) and Trade Compliance Regulations (i.e. ITAR or EAR) is desired but not required.
